I DL it yesterday but we played Halo last night and again later (4-player co-op) but I'm not going to gripe or cry about the score of the new dlc. Face it...no one saw what Borderlands has become and I'm willing to bet Gearbox didn't and the thought of any DLC wasn't in the cards. Personally...I rather them now focus on Duke and Borderworlds...I like that title.

Just an update - the Moxxie Tournies suck. I don't know if the patch will change them in anyway, but they are just not fun at all. for all you looking into the GotY edition, beware of this. It really saps the fun out of the game imho.

I want to start this up again. My only character is a Hunter around level 15 I think. For all you Hunters out there, can you please recommend a build and a skill progression track? I think I'd like to go with some sort of combo Gunslinger and Bloodwing build. Or, do I really need to use the sniper rifle?

The Bloodwing is your best friend so max him out asap. While some think of the Hunter with a sniper it's his Pistol mods that really shine especially fire rates to damage to ammo regen and there are some lethal pistols later in the game.
Somehwere a few months ago I posted a link to Borderlands wiki which pretty much tells you everything you ever wanted to know from the weapons the mods and character builds. I'll see if I can check my Hunter's settings tonight. And no...don't discount the sniper right away. he does have a few good things to use with it.

By the way gang...checked the offical GB boards at Borderlands and still no word about the new patch. Some are starting to get a bit annoyed about the delay and like me sitting on the DLC until it comes out.

could someone, without giving anything at all away, tell me if there is a nice payoff (weapons, stuff) @ the end of Secret Armory of General Knoxx?
i know it has been mentioned, but the lack of fast travel in these DLC's, especially this one, is pretty frustrating. traversing the lands has become monotonous and i just want to see if there is a nice pot 'o gold at the end of this rainbow before i continue on. and yes, i know i have to get past Crawmerax.

^ i figured there was a nice payoff given the name. i will keep at it. it is still fun and i like the new enemies and slight variety (Drifters anyone), but that traversing, ugh.

I hope it also improves the drop rate for all the collectibles, because it's absurd as it is now. People are leaving their systems running overnight and/or all day to farm the collectibles, and there still aren't enough drops to get the achievements.

FYI, it's not actually live on the 360 yet (I checked) and I would guess it's for the same reason Comic Jumper's update hasn't been pushed down - the "glitch" on Microsoft's side (per Twisted Pixel).

of course it will arrive last on 360. i loaded the game a few times here and there to check but am going to do some chores so i don't drive myself crazy. some people at gbxforums have reported that they were autoleveled to 69. i hope that is not the case.

seems like i still have a lot of missions to go and figured the armory would be towards the end, but i guess i went there before a few others.

he can drop pearlescent weapons but i have never seen one drop. i have solo'd him maybe ten times and beat him in groups of 2-3 a handful more. i have read of people farming him way more and not seeing a pearl. they can also appear from badass lance, skyscraper (that drifter you get a mission to kill), lance chests, lance royal guards, and probably other places i am forgetting. the best reason to farm crawmerax is because he drops so much loot at once (plus once you get your strategy down it is kind of fun). from what i have seen of the pearls, some are awesome but you are likely to find as good or better orange weapons in the knoxx dlc.
Edit to add: you may want to read up on legendary weapons on the borderlands wiki so you know what you are looking for. that is also super helpful because it tells you how the taglines effect legendary weapons.

ok. it's not a big deal. i have a couple oranges (dark). one caustic smg and combustion hellfire smg that have been mowing enemies down very easy. different Lance soldiers require one or the other and go in seconds. even Knoxx was bowing down to the caustic.

i have never found a decent caustic smg for my siren. i use a mercenary class mod (61% smg damage, some skill points, +15 or so smg ammo regen) so i would love one but i can't find any caustic smg that comes close to my pestilent crux shotgun.
the hellfires are great though. i am bad about carrying around multiple even though i only use one i just think they are awesome

found the caustic with weapon zoom in Knoxx DLC and they mow down all the lance soldiers, Devastators and Drifters when i am on foot in the desert, except the Pyro Lance- they need hellfire.
i just got a great purple shotgun something or other from the armory, but can't see not using an smg.

If you've done the armory, you're officially "done" with that DLC- but they give a lot of clean up missions to keep you interested past that (including two more chances at the armory). So it's one of those keep playing as long as you're having fun type of things.

i figured. i was a little confused when the credits rolled and thought that was it and wouldn't be able to finish missions and get the worm, but it sent me back & i was ready to continue.

Is there a way to do the missions again?
The patch apparently applies any extra experience gained prior to the patching to your character. This means you might jump straight to level 69.
