Borderlands
Anyone else looking forward to this next week? I'm awaiting some feedback, but as of right now my hopes are pretty damn high. I love the change to the cel-shaded look and am very intrigued by the 4 player co-op options. (It doesn't hurt that these guys know how to make a goddamn awesome trailer too.)

I'm getting it. Fallout 3 was a great game but it too had its flaws. They didn't keep me from enjoying it and the flaws Borderlands have are not going to keep me from enjoying some 4 player co-op action.

also of note, the game dev has said that the game saves when you quit, in that you save any stuff and exp you have at the time, but you do reset to the nearest checkpoint, and the enemies will respawn.

Re: Borderlands
Hmmm...I look forward to seeing some of the reviews that come out. The difficulty thing sounds like maybe it scales? If so then I don't have a problem. The co-op will be a big factor, so I look forward to hearing any issues with that, but ultimately I'd probably still be interested if the single player stuff was still well done. I just really love the look/attitude of everything I've seen thus far.

I am interested in it, but dont care for the new look Liked it before the cellshaded look and was disappointed in Gearbox's last game Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway, Which was nothing like the early trailer that they showed saying it was ingame.

Seriously, that's the ugliest cover I've seen for a game in years. It seems silly to suggest that a cover design would have any effect on sales, but that one might. It's really bad and off-putting.

I like it, it's fairly original, and honestly not even close to the worst cover on a game.

Re: Borderlands
the cover = creative and original. i like the design, but it's not good enough for cover art really. Put that on the instruction manual, not the cover.
the video from that Giant Bomb gang looked kind of, i dunno... it didn't make me want to play the game, let's just say that. The game looks like it has personality, but all those items to pick up after every kill would probably get annoying after 5 hours.

All these 2009 boxes are distintive and give a great impression to the consumer of what the game is about. Borderlands doesn't.

Re: Borderlands
I'd be okay with that. It could make for interesting fan art, I suppose, but it's too odd, unattractive and in-your-face for box art. I also don't think it's a good representation of the game. That's key, that the box art gives you an idea of what the game is.

Re: Borderlands
DLC has already been announced. Some people get down on stuff like this saying the game needs to release before they worry about promoting DLC. However for me it shows they plan on supporting the game. That definitely factors into my purchasing decision.
