Re: Borderlands

My wife and I have been playing for the last couple weeks, and every time I hear one of the Claptraps say: "Pleasedon'tshootme! Pleasedon'tshootme! Ok, ok take a deep breath... I CAN'T BREATHE!" I nearly die laughing. The personality in here is unbelievable.

anyone know why and are they gone forever?

another odd thing, when i first got to Knoxx, right before the Scooter mission, i did a little bit exploring. just around Scooter's place, went up some stairs and in a little room, where the door was red and then as i was leaving to go back, saw it was green. went back in and opened one of those little lockers that would normally hold some ammo, not a mini that usually holds money.

then, out jumps a Level 61 midget. i am Level 41 so i was whacked instantly and i didn't even nick him with my smg. are occurrences like this normal in Knoxx as it seemed very odd for such a high level all of a sudden.
anyone have any insight as to how i lost my weapons from finishing Zombie?

I have no clue as to how or why you lost two weapons, one in your rotation and the other in the back-pack. It's been known that "Modded" weapons have vanished but for two random....? Knoxx has had a few bugs and some unexplained happening. I'll check some of the boards and see what they have to say.

I've checked the offical Borderlands 360 Bug forum and so far no mention of your problem. However did you lose any Backpack slots? Some have reported having say 42 and then losing slots. If that's the case that could explain it. Most Knoxx issues are accessing areas and in co-op play.

Sadly I have all 3 of those weapons but not the ones with the best stats.

Re: Borderlands

Goddamnit. I need to complete one last mission to get the last trophy of the game and it has a fucking glitch.

On the "It's like Christmas!" mission to the armory, the "grab loot" part of it is already checked (god know's why) so the blast doors are down and I can't get to the armory room to complete the mission!

Re: Borderlands

Most of you probably knew this, but I just figured out that your stats and weapons transfer over from playthrough 2 back to playthrough 1, if you're so inclined. This is great, because I don't want to hit Knoxx until I'm at level 50, which I can't hit in PT1, and I really don't want to go all the way through PT2 either - but I can go move up levels in just a few sections of PT2 (I went up 5 in just a few hours) to get to 50 and then use those stats on Knoxx in PT1, which will be more manageable.

Did you do the armory glitch to loot all the chests and accidentaly go into the room the elevator comes down from?

thanks for looking into this K&A. no, i didn't seem to lose any slots, just those two, recently acquired weapons that i really wanted to use.

Re: Borderlands

so is it advisable to go through playthrough 2 before starting on Knoxxx DLC?

i think it was mentioned a little earlier, but wasn't sure. i just started and while the enemies are 3 or 4 levels below me i have gotten killed twice already @ $200k a pop to respawn.

Knoxx DLC in PT2 is lvl 50+, so if you aren't over 50, then yes, do the playthrough, at least until you are level 50 / 51

as far as 200k a death - i was losing 20 mil a death at one point. then i got lazy and stopped collecting money

Ha...Ha...Ha...that's pocket change for you ...the next DLC should be named....VballBoy Armory

And Scott...find someone who has a boat load of those Pearlescent weapons and "DUP" them for you...cannot mention how helpful they are especially in Knoxx

what does "DUP" mean and how exactly does this work?

i might just have to quit Borderlands actually and move on to either Batman: Arkham Asylum or Gears of War 2.

If you haven't played it, GoW1 had a (slightly) better single-player campaign than the sequel.

"DUP" is ......duplicating.......where a player can come in to someone's game drop their weapons, quit out and come back in

Can't tell you what to do but Borderalnds is fun and sometimes a pain your first time thru single player. Especially when you're going aginst enemies that's close to the same level as you.First time thru with a co-op buddy is much better but that's just me. The other option is get help with someone leveled up to 'watch your back" in co-op. I wouldn't give it up though.

Re: Borderlands

Popped this in last night and played a couple hours when I should have been sleeping. I'm hooked.

Minor quibble, and maybe I missed something, but I wish that you could automatically pick up items as you walk near them, and not have to hit the X button all the frigging time.

Awesome fun though, I'm sure I'm in for the long haul.

Re: Borderlands

so if someone comes in with me and i pick up the weapon, can i still have it if i go it alone thereafter?

so will someone give me an awesome pearlescent SMG (preferably with weapon zoom) of some kind so i can plow through Knoxx and playthrough 2? i would appreciate it and not post in this thread for at least 2 days after?

i can get on sometime this weekend or tomorrow (Friday) after work for a bit...(maybe shoot a pm if possible?)

**would also have to be a Level 42 or lower

On the PC version, if you hold down the use button [E] for a couple seconds, all money and ammo in the area will be picked up at once. I'd imagine they have the same option on the console versions.

Just be careful, if you hold down the button while centered on a gun it will automatically equip and replace the weapon you're currently holding.

I don't think you're going to find a lot of <55+ pearls. i'd happily dupe anything i have for you, but everything i have is for at least level 55. i got rid of most of my low level stuff and just had people rush my level. i was level 50 in just a few hours

You can do that in the xbox version too by holding X.

On the Xbox you just hold the pickup button while aiming the reticle in the general vicinity of the items. Like you said though - it will auto-equip the weapon.

Re: Borderlands

To Trevor and atxbomber...if you want to add me to your friends list and need a bit of company or just watch your back send me a friends request.

Even though I have all four characters at Level 61 I really haven't been able to try out all their new "toys" after leveling up. Even my Soldier hasn't completed the bulk of the missions. He started out as a experiment on how fast and how far we could take a Level 1 character, bring him in a 2nd Playthru and just basically sit still while leveling up. It took about 1 to 1 1/2 hrs to go from Level 1 to Level 22 with $1.3 million and still had not done "Fresh off the Bus" first part. He hasn't done probably 2/3 of the total missions.

Re: Borderlands

Thanks K&A, will do next time I boot up.

Booted up this morning to kill an hour or two, and just stopped playing. Have no idea where the time went, almost 12 hours of constant play.

Went from level 3 or so to level 19 I think, just killed Sledge. Die more often than I should, playing as a charge-in brawler even though I picked the sniper/hunter guy. Don't think I've ever seen more than $15k in my bank, and I explore most areas thoroughly, picking up everything. Millions in cash, wow. I think that tells me I have a long way to go.

Well really money itself doesn't become all that important especially in the upper levels. It does when you're in your first palythru and mainly from say beginning to about 2/3. That's when you do see some decent weapons versus one's that's dropped. The two best areas for "stuff"...

New Haven...It has Six Weapon crates, four in town and two outside. Plus there's two "vending machines". Not just good for weapons but what you don't keep sell off for $$$$

Old Haven...while there's plenty of weapon drops you'll find more shields here than anywhere else. Plus there's "claptrap" mission. There's six weapon crates with one pretty tricky to get to. This is also probably the toughest level especially your first time thru.

Also the more money you get the more you lose when you die
