They didn't seem too great.

I used to play WoW so I may just be expecting too much from the Craw drops.

Both of those are solid weapons but with the Rife in a maxxed out Soldier it's deadly. But that SMG Tsunami in my Siren's hands (she's a 60) is only bested by a SMG Hellfire but barely.

But the same goes with say the Jacobs Bessie sniper rifle. It's bad enough (1375 Damage and 500% Critical) but with the Hunter it's Really Bad!!. Same with the repeater Nemesis...a bad little boy...with the Hunter's 91% Pistol Fire Rate...good gosh!! Buit in the hands of say the Siren when she has 61% Weapon Damage...a bad ass boy.

Borttom line...the weapons themselves can only go so far but which character and which mod is used can take them to another level.

Re: Borderlands

I was farming Crawmerax for some pearls, when I stumbled into THIS among the dropped guns.
I don't know if it's legit or it's a mod dropped by other player on purpose, but I nearly crapped my pants when I picked it up.
It might be legit because the moded weapons are for level 70.

By the way, it's 187 x 6

The only thing with "THIS" that may point to a modded weapon is the x6 for Tediore SMG's. They're known as the cheapest and most widely available. The SMG's offer Ammo Regen and high fire rates but are also less accurate. Theriore does have it's Anarchy models but I've only seen those like x2 & x4...not sure with a x6. I'll have to check mine stash which is pretty large with four characters plus three for "Banking". Pretty interesting weapon though.

Hey K&AJones, is it too hard to duplicate weapons?

Re: Borderlands

This is starting to sound complicated, I was hoping it was a simple point and shoot game. My Amazon package arrived yesterday, hope to boot it up next week sometime when I get a day off.

Don't let them scare you off. It is a super simple point and shoot game. As you slowly get new weapons the stats and such will begin to make sense. You can even ignore a good number of the stats if you aren't trying to power your character up as much as possible.

Thanks, I am looking forward to it. I am/used to be obsessed with minutia, can't fathom how many hours I spent scouring my stats on Oblivion or various other games over the years, but I think I'm now to the point where I'll never do that again. I just want mindless games to test my reflexes and logic for an hour or two at a time, maybe with a campaign endgoal ala Halo.

Just be sure to pick the right character for the weapon type you like more.
I made the mistake of choosing Brick, and the rocket launcher is my least favorite weapon type
I should've chosen Roland. I have a lvl 12 Roland and I'm thinking on picking that one and leveling him up.

Re: Borderlands

Yeah, it's super simple. You can obsess about stat comparison, but in the end the game is basically easy so there isn't much point in that.

Re: Borderlands

Cool, maybe I'll try to squeeze some play in tonight, although I really shouldn't. Tuesday night looks more promising.

Gamertag Trevor if anyone wants to add me, but try to indicate in the message field or somewhere that you're from DVDtalk, I get at least one friend request every day from ~12 year old kids who think I'm 'their Trevor'.

Re: Borderlands

Borderlands is not good for people with OCD - you will constantly be trying to up your stats and unable to stop. The game is insidious with how it keeps you playing by rewarding you - it would be even worse for obsessive types. You've been warned!

Re: Borderlands

so i finished Zombie DLC and beat Ned...twice. got some nice weapons, including his purple smg. little repetitive, but fun.

went into Knoxx DLC, finished a mission, exitted and when i came back...i no longer had my 2 weapons. one was in my 4 to be used and it was gone, as well as the other in my backpack. i went all the way back to The Mill and nothing.

anyone know why and are they gone forever?

another odd thing, when i first got to Knoxx, right before the Scooter mission, i did a little bit exploring. just around Scooter's place, went up some stairs and in a little room, where the door was red and then as i was leaving to go back, saw it was green. went back in and opened one of those little lockers that would normally hold some ammo, not a mini that usually holds money.

then, out jumps a Level 61 midget. i am Level 41 so i was whacked instantly and i didn't even nick him with my smg. are occurrences like this normal in Knoxx as it seemed very odd for such a high level all of a sudden.

The level 61 midget is for an achievement. There are a couple of midgets that jump out but none of them are that high level

My tsunmai sucked. It had like a 2.5 fire rate.

Yeah, the one I found was terrible. I can't say I am too fond of their loot system. I really don't like how you can find two similar weapons with different level ratings and the lower level weapon has better stats. I would think that the higher level weapon should always have better stats.

Well besides The Tsunami and The Nemesis I think this is a must have in your bag-of-weapons, one of my favorites...it's great for The Soldier but with the Siren's 61% Weapon Damage mod....insane

Sorry about that but meant to say using The Plague Bearer mod at 61% Corrode Damage....thanks for correcting that.

Damn, my soldier is high enough to use that, even though I've yet to use a machine gun. I might have to give you a buzz.
