Re: Guitar Hero: The One and Only Thread

I do like Paint It Black and When You Were Young but, like mentioned in the article, these aren't new to music games. I would feel a little short-changed knowing that I already owned those in GH before but can't use them.

Gotta say, that song list (save When You Were Young) kinda sucks. I might cancel my pre-order.

Re: Guitar Hero: The One and Only Thread

I still think them changing things up is nice, although the reaction from everyone makes it sound like they prefer what they've been used to with a huge library of songs.

That said, none of the songs mentioned so far entice me. I still feel kind of done with the music game genre and more plastic instruments, even if I can get this game for a discount.

If those were DLC I'd pick up a few, but not impressive so far. It is nice to see a few new names on the list, though.

Re: Guitar Hero: The One and Only Thread

Not the Manson song I'd choose, but KSE, Mastodon, Royal Blood, Deftones? That's pretty awesome to me... but it doesn't matter because I'll never buy this game.

Re: Guitar Hero: The One and Only Thread

At this point I'm liking more of the GH track list than the RB list. Too bad I really don't have any interest in the game itself.

To be fair, though, we only know something like 6 songs in Rock Band 4 vs. dozens for Guitar Hero Live.

Re: Guitar Hero: The One and Only Thread

Is there much/any crossover between these announced GH songs and the past releases & DLC? I'm confused by the seemingly "deep cut" nature of most of these when there will be no conflict in hitting the more popular titles of the bands.

It leads me to believe that, against all better judgement or intel, that Activision may still be trying to revive the back GH catalog for resell on the modern platform. Sure, you may have to buy again, but they might be working on offering $19.99 packs for GH1, GH2, GH:WT, etc.

Ain't nobody got time for 2 music games again - especially a reboot that changes the game-play and doesn't use anything from the previous games.

This. And I am not going to get into spending hundreds of dollars again on DLC.

Which is why Rock band is the clear choice for fans of these games.

Re: Guitar Hero: The One and Only Thread

Obviously. GH just seems to be making it clear they aren't willing to step on past DLC's toes just yet. They may be able to work out relicensing the tracks and clearing forward-ownership with MS and Sony once they get a satisfactory conversion routine for the old charts to the new button layout.

Jesus Christ, aside a few tracks that's a shit list of songs.

When I think "Guitar Hero" I totally think of Bruno Mars.

Re: Guitar Hero: The One and Only Thread

Achievements are up: http://www.trueachievements.com/Guit...hievements.htm

The bulk of them appear to be related to the online portion of the game, unfortunately.

Also, there's a 2 point, 18 point, 19 point and a 24 point achievement, if you're the type who has OCD about your score ending in either 0 or 5.

Re: Guitar Hero: The One and Only Thread

And a 12-point one to bring it back to ending in a 0 or 5.

I don't mind these achievements. Much better than "finish everything on expert" or whatever. Allow me to get everything just by playing long enough, not by actual skill. I don't have time for that any more.

Stretch it out forever with DLC if you want (Harmonix), I'm gonna buy more and play more.
