Re: Guitar Hero: The One and Only Thread
So I tried the GH demo today at BB. Man what a crappy, cheap controller. Feels really light and flimsy. I don't like the new button layout -- you have guitar-pick shaped notes in three columns, facing right side up if upside down. The vertical orientation determines which button to press as there are two rows of buttons in three columns each. I'm sure I could get used to it, but it's a little harder to interpret than five buttons in one row.
The POV stuff is just silly. You're looking at the notes, not the background anyway.

Background? Foreground? Foreground as the background?

Re: Guitar Hero: The One and Only Thread
I think the guitar fret is the foreground and everything else is the background.
Still it's weird since it's live action, but clearly not the Black Keys or Fall Out Boy, so why does it have to be FMV anyway? It feels a little like Mad Dog McCree with a guitar (i.e. Cheesy).

Guitar Hero hasn't played the same (or nearly as well) since Guitar Hero 2. This... doesn't look like it'll fix that, but hey, James Franco and Lenny Kravitz.

That was a joke just for the commercial about no pausing, right? Then again, what's one more joke on this pile...

Re: Guitar Hero: The One and Only Thread
Never really understood all the hate the game was getting here other then it just being a Guitar Hero game, reviews aren't bad but seem to range quite a bit.
Destructiod - 9.5 - http://www.destructoid.com/review-gu...e-315533.phtml
IGN - 7.9 - http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/10/...ign=Coverstory
Gamespot - 6 - http://www.gamespot.com/reviews/guit.../1900-6416284/
Metacritic has it at 78 right now overall.

Meh
I tried the beta of the game so I kept quiet, but it was pretty fun and I thought the view in to the crowd and live video worked well. Then again I wasn't hardcore in to the plastic instrument stuff that a lot of you guys are. That said, I still feel kind of over the whole genre. The microtransactions in here still seem wonky though.

So...
This game is alright. It's slickly produced. The microtransactions/online stuff is fine, and kind of a lot of fun actually. The new guitar will take some getting used to but I wanted the challenge of a new control scheme. So far I don't regret my GCU discounted purchase.

So are the RB guitars going to work with this game and vice versa?
