^Thanks. Then it appears it will need to be a clearance item for me to pick this up.

Actually, the GHLive guitar does work with RB4 on PS4 (sorta). According to someone on GAF, you can strum with the D-Pad (not the strum bar), and the 5 colors of RB4 map to the first row of the GH guitar, and the first two frets of the second row.

Picked it up because I got a good price (25% off) and am having a lot of fun with it - the presentation is excellent and super slick. Way better than previous guitar hero games - I'm also enjoying the new controller much more than I thought I would - it is giving me some trouble but overall I actually am kind of impressed.

Any other thoughts on the game from those who own it? It will be reasonably priced at Best Buy and I'm wondering if it's worth picking up for a change from RB. Not sure I could get used to that new controller though. It seemed mighty difficult for my brain to get around that up/down note,front/back button thing.

When your in tv mode and paying for songs with "play", what is the point of adding songs to a playlist? I assume you still have to buy them right?

Amazon has this as their deal of the day for today for $50.
Will Best Buy price match deals of the day as I have a $35 rewards certificate that expires in a couple of weeks.
Also, any new opinions on this game? Worth it?

Re: Guitar Hero: The One and Only Thread
So the Guitar Hero + 2 controllers pack is on sale at amazon (ps4 or xbox one) for only $70. What's the consensus on this game? I was going to pick it up, but reading reviews, someone said most of the game was single player. I'm mainly buying it for 2 player. And it sounds like you have to earn credits just to play whatever song you want? that sounds pretty lame ...

The reviews are horrid, especially the straight up consumer reviews. I almost bought it a month ago for around $35 but after reading the reviews at amazon of people who actually own the game, I passed.
And the consensus seems to be that the guitar is a hunk of junk.

Nine months later.....
Costco (at least mine) has the Supreme Mega Ultra Hyper Edition for 39.99 for XBone and PS4 through the end of the year. Comes with the game, two guitars and 6900 SuperPoints or whatever.
49.99 plus an instant $10-off.
I bought, I'm sure I'll get that much out of it. Plus if I have second thoughts I should be able to return it, they have a pretty good return policy.
The reviews do seem all over the place.

Re: Guitar Hero: The One and Only Thread
So I started playing GH Live this weekend.
It's definitely different. Once I realized the fret symbols were not only black and white, but pointed up and down, that helped a lot.
The GHTV is surprisingly addictive - "one more song..." or play for another ten minutes till a block I'm really interested in appears.
Definitely a product of the microtransaction age, but I haven't spent any actual money on them yet and don't plan to - but hopefully enough others will to keep the channels alive.
Some of the microtransactions seem ridiculous, but others don't seem to bad (looks like .99 cents worth of HeroCash may get you something like 6 song plays or so, which isn't terrible.)
Somewhere I read there would be a third channel - hope that still happens.
On thinking it through, I was originally disappointed in the small permanent setlist and the random nature of GHTV - but realized it's not much different, and actually better in some ways, than some previous iterations. In the past to go through Career mode, you played what they gave you. Yes, you could choose to Quickplay your favorite songs, and of course buy lots of them, but I think GHTV is growing on me. Seen a couple videos/played a few songs I didn't expect to (Got the Time - Anthrax and Painkiller - Judas Priest) and discovered a couple bands I am going to check out (Sleigh Bells and, er, another.)
Is there a 'history' function? I just played through like 20 songs so I forgot one of those bands I wanted to check out.
What happens if I 'favorite' a song? I did that with a song but now I don't where I can see that song, if at all.
One of my guitars is a little clicky so I'm not sure how long it will last, and only on some songs do i get the 'feeling' of playing like I did in older GH/RB games, but assuming the network will stay up for a while, and the guitars don't break, I definitely think I'll get 40 bucks of enjoyment out of it.
