Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Was only able to jump on for one round but had a blast.

Haven't played in a long time, so it took some readjusting to the controls. Somehow I kneeled and I don't remember how I did that. Highlights for me were finally blowing up frizby after you kept annihilating me from the warhawk. And then taking out edstein after he kept nailing me with the sniper rifle. That was also my first sniper kill ever.

Thanks! Look forward to trying to join up next week.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Fun night tonight.

I played splitscreen tonight with my son...makes it really hard to see
EdStein and son made a split-screen appearance
Chew was on throughout
TL Wizard was on for...it seemed like a few rounds
WhistlerSteve is a flag grabbing mofo!!!
Flipperbaby jumped in for a bit...I've seen him practicing on my friends list!

I would have liked to have seen a few more folks, but it was encouraging to get some fun games in...and they were definitely fun games!

Thanks fellas, and we'll see you on there next week!

Whoa what happened? I just got home, turned on the game and nada. Play time is ending way too soon.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

When I first started playing I would just defend in the CTF games. It is way more fun just going to the other base, grabbing the flag and running.

We did cut a bit short last night, and I apologize for that. I think Ed and son were getting off, and my son had to go to bed, so we would have been down to 3-4.

Also, my alarm was set for 4:45 this morning, so I needed some rest.

I really did have a good time last night. A couple of you guys were just destroying my Warhawk!

I agree, and it was funny.

Probably the highlight of my night was jeep flipping...one of my favorite things to do...especially to folks who aren't expecting it. Every now and then, on the Northern Bridge map, I'll flip one off of the bridge.

I jumped on as soon as I got home. I was glad to get in at least the one round. My kill to death ratio was a respectable 9/10 for the game. I'll take it.

I think I managed to shoot down a Warhawk with that immobile machine gun station thing. Not sure how I did that. And I think at least half of my deaths occurred when I foolishly tried to fly around with the Warhawk. Every time -- it seemed -- I'd juuuust get up in the air and chess had already locked on. I could just never fire the chaff in time. Still working on the manual dexterity to get those armed before I 'plode.

Good work!

That was definitely me. I was juuust high enough that I couldn't tell whether there was someone on the gun, and I couldn't decide whether to hit you or the guy behind you with the lightning I had armed. The 50 cals make quick work of a warhawk.

Payback for the above.

I think I made up the majority of your kills, because you took me out a lot from the ground. It felt like I was on the wrong end of a duck hunt.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I don't normally let my kids play games during the week, just weekends. But since we were down to just five I let him jump in for a bit. Tuesdays work out for me but I wonder if we couldn't get more people on the weekends.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I took your Warhawk down with the tank and got myself a trophy. Is it possible to kill a Warhawk with the handheld machine gun? I was trying a few times but didn't know if you could.

Weekday attendance so far has been a bit stronger on avg...with the exception of last week.

Like I said, wrong end of a duck hunt!

It is possible to hurt a warhawk with anything but the pistol, and there is a trophy for using any handheld weapon other than the rocket launcher. Anti-air Ninja, I think it's called.

Should we start a clan with everyone here that's shown up for Warhawk Tuesdays?

Ahh. Well I did join some random online game and it was a blast. Ive gotten better in the land vehicles but in the warhawk, everyone is just too damn good. I think my overscan is too much against me. I can only pick 3 weapons (as thats all I can see, the others I have no idea what the symbol looks like so why choose if I dont know how or what to do, or where assigned).

Forgive the stupid question: If we start a clan, then what? What does it do?

I was very happy to see there weren't any Warhawk-only maps this week.

chess, how old is your son? I would always see it was a frizby, but didn't realize until after the possible take-down that it was a "2".

I think it gives me a trophy for starting it and you a trophy for joining, but other than that...not much. Ideally, you get a clan together that can compete with other clans. I'd imagine the game is a lot of fun when you have a strategy and roles.

That was for you, just because you've been so reliable.

No, really.

He's 10, and he's new to the game, but you can take him out just like it were me. Suffice it to say that he's lucky he got to play at all.

He was getting a bit frustrated, but it was mostly that he played with my defaults. I think he wanted his vertical aiming inverted.

Well, just the time I'm called "reliable", I have to skip a week.

I think I have a pretty good reason though: Tuesday is my birthday and I have plans.

Everybody shoot somebody "in the neck" for me.

I'm going to have to jump in late again like last week. So there. I'm reliably tardy. I think this should be my last Tuesday roadblock for awhile, barring Penguins Stanley Cup playoff conflicts.

Playing yesterday morning I encountered my first tank dominator. I've seen plenty of guys dominate games with Warhawks but yesterday was the first time I ran into a guy that thoroughly destroyed everyone with a tank. It was a capture the flag game and he kept running circles around the block and taking out everything from Warhawks to foot soldiers without bothering to have the decency to kill himself accidentally. I'm always good enough to oblige in that regard.

My friend Eric (eroc79) said he's definitely in this week. Hopefully at least 3-4 others have firm plans to be there. The first hour always seems to be the most challenging, and then people drift in from there.

I'll probalby let my little guy play again this week, so I'm bringing 2.

Playing the tank is a bit like playing a twin-stick shooter, and folks who have that kind of capacity for independent movement can be really dangerous in a tank. I've run across a few people who are absolute surgeons.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Hey guys, I guess I've become kind of a Warhawk addict at the expense of my Rock Band drumming skills. That doesn't mean I'm really any better at it though. I started a clan called DVDTalk. If you want to join in, it'll get you at least one free trophy. We'll try to set up some Clan games on off-Tuesday nights. Maybe one day we'll get a win and another trophy.

If you want to join, send me an email/pm/psn message and I'll add you to the clan. If we get enough guys, great. Otherwise we'll just pad some trophies.
