Considering it was me and digi against three of you, yes...yes I did.

How am I shot down so easily in a warhawk. It seems it doesnt take long for me to be locked onto, than shot down. Where as I have to wait forever for the lock to take and than I shoot no one down if it does even connect.

The Warhawk is a fragile beast with a steep learning curve...no more, no less.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Fun games tonight with a couple of rare exceptions. I noticed flip is getting a lot better in the tank...took down my Warhawk a bunch of times.

My lag issues sorted out by late in the night...not sure what that was about, but man was it tough to stay competitive.

It was especially cool when we had 12 people on.

I kid...I think the most we had was 7.

Still, good times.

Lol, I held back during the first two games I played (Collection and Northern Bridge), but then I started getting my ass kicked on the Archipelago CTF, and by my last game (Valley Battle CTF on Eucadia) I let myself go a little

I saw someone dropping air-mines a couple of times, are we allowed to do that now?

I actually took out a couple Warhawks myself in the tank last night.

It seems like by the time I spawn at the start of a CTF map, all my teammates are already gone and I feel the need to stay behind and play defense. Well, I'm not going to get any better on offense if I keep doing that week after week.....and there isn't anybody who needs to get better on offense more than I do.

I'm planning on a much more offensive strategy next week, somebody else can play defense for once.

We should coordinate the defense/offense bit. If I stick around to play defense near the flag at CTF, I often drift away a little bit from the base. I know we were both playing a lot of defense in the Archipelago map a few times and I didn't even realize it. It wasn't until chess complained about three guys attacking him that I realized chew and I were both playing defense. Thereby negating chess' frustration because it was only ever two guys at once. And I was like c'mon man, get some skills already.

I'm ashamed to admit it, but I had a lot of fun in that CTF Grinder match. And if I'm loading maps again next week, I think it's going back in!

Yeah, I think we may have had 8 for a few seconds. But we got to listen to chess declare that he was constantly slashing us to pieces ("blood is flying everywhere, but you're just not dying!") on the K&N mode. I felt bad, but it was just so funny when you were giving play by play of stuff nobody else was seeing.

Tru.

I still feel this way and I've been doing quite a bit of practicing in public games. You've just got to get a feel for what the thing can do. Evasion really is kind of an art. And I'm still a starving artist.

Generally, if you're a man down or on a weaker team, it's OK to open up. Just use some judgement...particularly about storming the other team's base.

Air mines are not OK. I assumed it was an accident and just cleared them with my guns.

I was waiting for one of you with an armed up Warhawk. It doesn't do me any good to dump on the area around the flag if there's nobody going after the flag...so I just waited.

That was truly surreal, but it was completely on my end, I think.

...first time I've ever seen that in Warhawk. Will have to keep an eye on my ping next week.

Good job hosting BTW...other than the repeat map and the tiny CTF (I know you liked it, but that stunk). Steve's play-style just doesn't lend itself to a game of attrition. He's more sneaky. You're free to host next week if you'd like, but as the guy who probably pays the closest attention, we RARELY get over 8.

But that was my favorite game of the evening. You and your Warhawk bobbing up and down around the base while I stalked you with rocket launchers. It was like Whack-A-Mole, except with moles that are smarter than you.

I would rather have it and not need it, then need it and not have it. Also, what happens when there is 8 already on is the ninth will try for like 5 minutes and then give up for the night and lo and behold 2 minutes later the 8th drops off and then we end up with uneven low teams and then it just falls apart. I would rather have room to expand so we don't lose that ninth which will become the 8th when someone eventually drops off.

I know last week we could have actually got to 10 because I know I had to sit for 30 mins waiting(in which time I jumped off to Rock Band for a little bit) and then Zeidos got left out and I think maybe Ofermod was another.

Was that the time I was just outside our base using my jeep's machine gun on chess's Warhawk?

Yeah, I couldnt help but get the feeling that there was some serious pay back issues going on in the Eucadia map after the Archipelago. We just got raped in that map with both you and Frizby up and the air and we(Flip, Chew and myself) had no pilots and you guys were up 4-0 and still launching TOWs just when Ofermod joined your team for a little 4x3. That was a fun one.

Certainly sounds like the same game. We were both there playing defense on and off for much of the game. At first because we didn't necessarily realize it and later because we were up 3-0.

Last night I saw you a couple of times roll in and out of the center base in a tank at The Archipelago CTF without capturing the base, and I was like, WTF?

We'll see who pops in to say they're playing next week. If Eroc says he's going to be there, I think I should probably host again. The more long-term, all-night players the more I should probably host.

I'll take out the CTF Grinder. And remove the duplicate map. That was entirely unintentional because it was one of the maps I swapped out just before going online Tuesday. I'd like to use one of the bigger Tau or Glacier maps, but I also don't want to keep booting Ravenous. I'll also drop the Dogfight just so we can coax Chew into at least another game.

If you've been keeping up with the thread, you'll understand when I respond: "it's because I'm Special".
