Tuesday's not a bad idea...start at 630 with flight school, knives and nades at 7.
I signed on around then but Fallout was in full force and I know how you love you some Fallout... so I jumped in a surprisingly enjoyable online game. I got your message right near the end of that, but my 4-week old had meltdown city just as I was finishing that game up so I didn't get to jump into Flight Training when I got it. I finally got her to sleep and jumped on for my mini-lesson. That was great, btw. I wish it could have been longer, but the wife came down with "the look" and I knew it was time to cut the lesson short.

I'll try my best to make it a little early on Tuesday for my continued learnin'. I'd just started to get the hang of that maneuver too. chess, I really appreciate you taking the time to help me (and the rest of the Warhawk delinquents).

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I actually missed that the thread got bumped.

Yep, I'll have a Warhawk training map up at 630. The plan is to get acquanted with pro-flight, do some basic missile dodging drills, and time permitting, I'll give a few tips for the various weapons.

Oh, and good news...

I finished Fallout 3, so I won't be "losing track of time" again.

At least until the GOTY version comes out, right?

It's beginning to look like there'll be a low turnout tonight.

I can get in and only use the MG, nades and the 'ol blade, if chess lets me...

Oh, and no planes

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I wouldn't worry about turnout just based on the forum, as it's not a great predictor. Still, it's nice to know early that folks will be joining in.

I'll send Eric a reminder and try to convince him to bring another...who you guys will have to be patient with if he joins.

All are welcome. My only expectation is that if you are worlds better than us, you "play casual" and make an effort to not frustrate other players.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Had a great time. Thanks!

For some reason, when I first tried to sign on it kept telling me that I couldn't join the game, hence my message asking if the game was full. But I rebooted the PS3 and was able to get on then.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Fun games tonight fellas. Between Ofermod forgetting, eroc's power going out and ween being out, turnout was just ok, but the games were still good.

I think the most fun I had tonight was hunkering down with Z and playing defense on that CTF when we were playing 2 on 3. That was nuts.

But the highlight of the night was rolling into flip's base in a tank...he starts whacking the tank with a wrench till it was about to blow...I hop out, and I guess he didn't notice because he kept whacking the tank...I wrench him to the back of the head and hop in my tank...which he had just repaired for me by continuing to whack it! Hilarious.

I think somebody owes a dollar to the Ravenous fund.

...and I enjoyed playing with IFlores tonight...still hate that username though.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Lol, it was really fun, though it was a bit hard holding back at times.... Specially in the last match I played (On Island outpost CTF, I think it was over the bridges) and when someone slammed a TOW missile on my face.

My username is the name of song that two of my favorite bands have, casually (Slayer and Skinny Puppy) the 70 is because, at 39 y/o, I'm an old geezer

My own teammate, while in a Warhawk, hovers and intentionally flips my jeep. Was that you I.Flores?

That was probably me...doing my best to hold back myself.

Context is good...I just always think of "tormentor" as the sort of username one of those online kids might have. Funny that you're older than me...but barely.

It could have been me. I'll sometimes hinder my own team a bit if I feel like the teams are too lopsided.

If it's 3 on 2, it could be...besides, I just get a kick out of flipping jeeps!

Yeah, I got really focused on that last whack I'd need to 'plode you and I kept mashing the button so when you jumped out and that first + hit struck (I hadn't seen you jump out so that was my only clue), my little dude just kept wrenching the tank instead of responding to my cries for "square goddamn you! jump in the-- awww shit."

The Ravenous DLC fund grew to $3 last night. Funny, I think I've been wrenched twice and done the wrenching once. I really am directly contributing.

My favorite moment really was my long distance sniping on the CTF hills. I'd never been successful from that far away so when I hit the first guy (chew, I think) I got really excited. Right after that, I think it may have been Z that wandered right over into my sight. Pop. Two down. I grabbed some more ammo returned to my bunker, kept my sight set just to the inside of edge of the bunker. Pop. Dropped #3. Then I started to feel bad and hopped in a Warhawk for a drop-in on the flag. I know one of those times someone had our flag.

Oh and a close second was finally connecting on a TOW last night. To whomever I hit, I'm sorry I celebrated after the kill but it was just so damn exciting to finally have hit something.
