Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
That was one of the rare weeks I missed, and I almost wish I could have seen it! Random online games are absolutely a nightmare. We make a point to not "pile on" our fellow players, especially new guys. It's not at all uncommon for us to "escort" new players across the map or let them score a flag just so they can feel like they accomplished something. Other things:
- MOST everybody is mic'ed, so we can communicate
- We play with "all-talk" so both teams can hear each other.
- I try to balance the teams every game (simply by asking people to switch teams.
- We don't use mines, which are the weapons employed in the most unsavory ways.
- We try to limit other very powerful weapons (TOWs and Binocs) or how we use them.
- We just make a point generally to "play friendly".
We have a few players who will occasionally wander off and be annoying rather than play constructively, but for the most part we have about as good an experience as you can have playing with other douchebags online.

If nothing else, it's a great venue to get back at Slider for all the douchebaggery I'm sure he's up to in Call of Duty.
I get the impression that R2 and Nic make a point of finding him early and often.

Yeah...I almost never get to kill you back because you're too too busy killing yourself.
Slider does it too now, but it's on purpose and therefore not nearly as funny.

It's Tuesday.
WARHAWK BITCHES!!!!!
I noticed the Pens got their asses kicked last night, so I assume we'll have no hockey absentees.

It would be really cool if they choke again on Wednesday, just so I don't have to hear about it anymore.
As an aside, the NHL really needs to reconsider having their playoffs at the same time as the NBA...especially since basketball is, by most accounts, a real sport.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

NBA basketball stopped being a sport about ten years ago. It's really about time for people to catch up. I don't know anyone that actually watches the NBA anymore... and that includes a handful of people that work for the Bobcats (insert Bobcats not being an NBA franchise jokes here).
People who don't think hockey is a real sport haven't given it a chance... or haven't watched a game since the lockout. I love baseball. I will defend baseball to the death... but there is NOTHING like the atmosphere at an NHL playoff game.

Slider suicide balls.
On the NBA/NHL, I was just thinking in terms of mindshare and TV ratings. It seems like shifting out of the NBA's playoff window would make good sense from a business standpoint.
Any requests for tonight?
