I usually figure out that you jumped in because...oh crap, digiwok just killed me! I didn't realize he was in the game!

Tough to say. We usually have 4-6 by the end of the "lobby". I think last week was a bit of an anomaly, as folks didn't show up until 7:30-8:00.

Well, if we do have a knives-only map, how about trying a bigger one?

Will do...but not sure how it will work out with the lack of range...could get boring if I go too big.

I just chose the garden because it was the map I'd played Knives & Nades on before, and it seemed to work out OK. I also need to find something without vehicles, which usually means "small", but there are a few exceptions, I think.

I'll be there tonight. I think I owe some people some "wrenches."

Just an FYI, I might have to disappear every once in awhile. The new baby is a screamer.

I'm not sure why that's funny, but it sure is (at least for those of us who have been there).

Good luck!

...off to pick maps.

Fun times!

Apparently my phone worked well enough for me to get an immediate sniper headshot teamkill right when I got on. Sorry to whoever that was!

I assume that was me. I was dishing out unique deaths all night.

At least I finally got my Resourceful Driver trophy.

It was great to get back into the game and some sort of normalcy. And yes, Warhawk skills do get rusty... not that mine were particularly accomplished in the first place, but there was definitely some erosion.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Excellent games tonight fellas!

I didn't purposefully turn team damage on. I turned it up to about 30%, just toying with the idea, but I'm fairly certain I turned it back to 0%. Anyway, it made things a bit more interesting.

Tonight was the first time I got messages from folks trying to get in, but I attribute that to one of our better turnouts ever, and I think if one or two are trying to get in, that's probably a good thing.

Somehow, I kept switching colors and my confusion was causing me to hunt my own team. To the five or so teammates I killed, sorry.

I mixed the maps up just a bit tonight, and I enjoyed some of the new ones. That glacier CTF late in the night was particularly cool IMO. I'm actually at a point where I know pretty well which maps work for our number of players.

Knives and 'Nades was a good time again, but I could go either way on the dogfight. Those can be frustrating sometimes.

Chew's Weekly Headset Rant

Since I sit out the 10 minute dogfights every week, it gives me the opportunity to watch the screen for verification of the constant garble over the speakers.

Both jdpatri/Flipperbaby and zelebron/Zeidos were displayed as "active" nearly the entire time during that 10 minutes.

Please, please, please review the recommended headset settings in the first post.

Thank you.

Mark it down, I actually finished second in kills on that map.

Of course, I was in the bottom half the rest of the night.

I think Bluetooth headsets are slightly more sensitive than USB sets. They're generally designed for cell phones, and are engineered to pick up your voice in cluttered soundscapes. As such, they pick up everything if you have them set even a bit too sensitive.

Bottom Line: I think you might even have to go below my recommended sensitivity/input settings if you use bluetooth.

Z tweaked his for me when it was just me and him in the lobby, and it helped quite a bit, but I think it still needs to go lower.

I noticed that!

So I guess the K & N lobby is a keeper.

Yeah. My settings are set according to chess' original post. I'll take it all down another few notches.

It also may be that you just need to turn your TV volume down a bit. I keep mine pretty low.

The funny thing is that I hadn't heard my voice echo in weeks, and I could last night. Anecdotal evidence that you might be the cuprit...but it also might be Ed.

I'm using a usb headset with a noise suppressor on it. Shouldn't be me.

I keep my audio levels fairly low so it's likely the bluetooth sensitivity. I'll lower everything and test it during the next lobby.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I noticed several folks dropped out when the first expansion map came up.

Did anybody get booted for lack of having the DLC, or was it just coincidence?

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

It was also nice to see some folks who haven't been around much...

Steve, Ed, Flip (congrats to your pens), Wiz, and Chris were all in last night...and the usual crowd was out in force with Chew, Digi, Zeidos (now a regular, I think), Eroc, and myself. Hope I'm not forgetting anybody. That's a great showing, and it was a great time.

Sorry for calling you a "cheap-ass" in the last game ween...it was hardly your fault that I spawned on top of you when you were armed to the teeth! What I meant to say was "Oh crap!"
