np, but for the record you attacked me first. I didn't even know you were there until grenades were flying at me and I just fired a rocket at the first thing I saw which happened to be the ground and then I bugged out of there with my jetpack and let off a lucky grenade from 20 feet in the air. I thought that was a good DM though with more people involved. Got pretty hectic and the exploding jetpacks make getting a kill even more fulfilling.

Good games last night, however it seems we really need to figure out some sort of manual team balancing or something. With just 6 - 8 people it is very easy for it to get lopsided and then people just get frustrated to the point where it is not fun for either side. Kind of doutbful that there is anyway to go about that though unfortunately.

About the headset, this is the second time I've used it. I still don't know what settings work best. As chess told me I've lowered the sensitivity to 30% but if it needs to be lowered more please let me know next time.
I got booted for not having the DLC so no go for me that time.
I'll try to be a regular but sometimes work gets in the way.

I enjoyed the jetpack map as well, but wouldn't mind if the map were a bit bigger...or the match were a bit shorter. It started to get a bit repetitive toward the end. The problem is that any bigger map will have vehicles.

I've definitely given balance a lot of thought. I have the teams randomized. The other option is to have "balanced teams", which translates to "same teams". If you have the same teams every game, one will invariably be stronger, and will win the majority of the games, which leads to frustration for the other team. Randomized can lead to some REALLY lopsided games, but everybody has a chance to win a few games. You're also not killing (or being killed by) the same person all night, which can be irritating.

I can really only think of 2-3 games last night that got out of hand. We (literally, you and I) have to just be aware of it and back off as needed. I often try to balance the teams by either flying or not...or if it's 3 on 4, I'll just hover and watch...and obliterate anything that shoots at me.

It was nice when you switched teams on King of the Hill last night, because it allowed me to be a spectator and moved the teams to 3 on 3.

I guess I wasnt missed! I refuse to play cause you guys are far too cheesy and cheap...

Nahhh, my damn router crapped out yesterday and I was on the phone trying to get it fixed. Stupid Linksys charged me $30 to help me, JUST to tell me it was broken!! Which doesnt make sense as all the lights are working. Fuckers. 2 hours down the drain. So now I have only one computer working cause its hooked directly to the modem.

Anyone know a good router I should get?

I hope before you spent $30 for Linksys support that you sought help in the tech forum here. I mean, that's pretty much the cost of a new router right there.

I don't know what specific issues you're having, but have you tried flashing it with some of that tomato firmware or anything like that to see if it fixes any issues?

Sure you were...but I'm incredulous at you calling ANYBODY "cheap"!

How's that expansion fund coming? I'm still waiting for my first wrench to the head...was almost looking forward to it.

On the upside, Zelebron/Zeidos joined you in the DLC poorhouse!

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I got to play a bit last night!

A former coworker got a PS3 for his birthday, and eroc got him Warhawk, so we were showing him around and giving him a basic tutorial. He was still wrapping his head around "move with the left stick, aim with the right stick", so he spent a lot of time shooting at the ground or the sky.

I'm guessing we'll eventually get him in a Tuesday, and it will be a treat, because the dude is FUNNY.

Did anyone come through with any wrenchings? I tried a few times but missed and got mowed down with real weapons.

Me?

I don't think I got wrenched, but Chew probably knifed me 15 times. He was kicking butt in the knives & 'nades match!

Man I was in a rush and pissed off, I didnt think at all. Theyre giving me some bullshit $15 rebate though. Ive never heard of tomato firmware but I'll look into and maybe make a thread tonight to see if someone can save me $50.

The expansion is dead for now. Ill be back in force later but no doubt rusty as hell. And hey, I only get cheap when certain people hide a mile away from the action to just shoot TOW missles You noted people couldnt even get in the game though? Awesome, but sucks that we cant open the game to over 8 people as that would be a blast.

I was actually referring to your cheap ass not getting the expansion packs!

I'd say it was about the best turnout ever, and only two people couldn't get on...both at different times, and they both got in eventually. Best case would have been 5 on 5, but given the timing, I think it would have been 5 on 4 at two different times.

We're on the verge of the 8 player limit being an issue, but it's not the limiting factor yet.

I think it has to be a wrench (not a knife), and it has to be to the back of the head (not head on)...and it apparently needs to be me (good luck catching me on foot).

If you can meet these criteria, Flip will send Ravenous $1. I figure in a year or so, he might have enough to buy the DLC. Heck, it might be free by then, in which case he can give the money to Linksys for pretty much nothing.

Also, I think we opened the contest up for Big Z. I think that's where it started; it just migrated over to frizby for obvious reasons (TOW, ahem).

It's not as if I can't buy it yet. It's just that I started with the Warhawk demo and liked it a lot that I bought the full game. On the demo it was only one map and I knew where I had to go and what to do. Now on the full game I am still getting used to the new modes besides CTF like death match, team death match, collection, hero, zones and the new maps.

So I would like to take it easy on the full game first and then further down the road I will get the DLC.

Maybe I wasn't clear...fully kidding...mostly ribbing Ravenous since he's the only "regular" who doesn't have it.

I do my best to accommodate the DLC challenged until pretty late in the night, so take your time...and keep coming out to play!

D'oh! Right over my head. If the game starts being a pain to get in because of over population I wont keep trying. Though itll be awhile before I play again.

My Im kinda with zel on the expansions. I dont even know where all the mines are in the game I have. I figure once I know those levels like the back of my hand I will get the expansions sale or not.

Damn Im already missing Warhawk.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

No worries.

Even if you guys get them, I don't plan to change the general rotations anytime soon. I want new players without the packs to be able to get in, so I'll continue to save DLC for the very end of the night...and even then, just a map or two.

Where's the Tuesday chatter? Who gets wrenched tonight? (btw, there will be no $1 contributions for wrenching me.)

Just for once, can I be on the lopsided team that hovers over spawn points and takes out the opponent within 5 seconds of regenerating?
