...if only I could.

I only do that to missile turrets and ween...both of which I'm deathly afraid of.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

So I'm scribbling on a post-it here, and I'm feeling a bit more CTF tonight.

Here's the draft:

1. Archipelago - Close Corridors - Knives and 'Nades DM (this is the small map with 3 levels)
2. Eucadia - Valley Battle - CTF
3. Archipelago - Acroplolis Assualt - Collection
4. Badlands - Supply Chain - CTF
5. Eucadia - Northern Bridge - TDM
6. Island Outpost - Island Battle - CTF (maybe too big)
7. Destroyed Capital - King of the Hill - CTF
8. Badlands - Fortress - TDM
9. Vaporfield Glacier - [map from last week] - CTF
10. Tau Crater - Jet Packs

So is your router officially fried? What exactly is it doing?

I'll be on right at the beginning but have to jump off after 1.5 hours, so it looks like I'll be missing the expansion maps.

Its doing nothing. The lights are all on and its showing signs that it works but when I have it plugged in. a message saying its a week connection and I might not have access to the internet pops up,. When I trouble shot it with the Lyns people, an IP couldnt be found. I have to hook it all up to get the exact message. Just havent had time the past few days to make a thread or research it and may not get to cause even more stuff is coming up. Its a complete nightmare.

And I assume they had you reset everything to factory settings? And updated the firmware (outside of trying the tomato stuff)?

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I had fun tonight.

Chess, glad you could surf on top of my tank.

Apparently when someone calls me, I get kicked off the internet. That's why I disappeared midway through.

Thanks!

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Tank Surfing FTW!!! I basically had no grenades/flame thrower/wrench, so I did the only thing I could think of...just jumped on top of the tank and rode around for a bit!

A lot of lopsided games last night, which was disappointing. I had the teams set to "random", but it seemed to want to keep the same teams together for a couple maps in a row...which is great if you're having good games, but not so much if it's lopsided. I think I'll go with balanced teams next week, but that's broken because it's based solely on rank...and some of you guys have no rank but have gotten pretty good. I also hate when it's the same teams all night. Basically, if one team is clearly better, they will steamroll all night.

As usual, I had to back off quite a bit, and I had to sit out one game. I'm much more interested in everybody having fun than I am winning most of the time.

It was good to see Fly in the game.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I stunk last night. My apologies to all team members who had the misfortune of enduring my attempts at Warhawk-flying practice.

But was my bluetooth at least not garbling the whole night?

Yours was fine, but there's still some issues with others.

New suggestion up for discussion: unless you're wired, please uncheck Open Mic.

Pretty please?

If you're going to practice, this is the place to do it. Let me know when you're practicing, and I'll refrain from engaging air-to-air.

You sounded fine to me.

I see Digiwok's mic is engaged most times. It sounds OK for the most part, but I think his is the one that gives me the echo when I talk. Z's was still on quite a bit, but not until later in the night for some reason.

I was getting some godawful noises on the Island map...sounded like heavy breathing or something...not sure what you guys are up to.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Tank surfing aside, the highlight of the night for me was my fiance freaking the f' out thinking there was a scorpion in the living room. It was just a spider...but it was one of those little furry black bastards with the white spot.

I found a place out of the way to hover and took care of it just in time to find Z taking me out.

I was shooting at you with a rocket launcher around that time and thought you were referring to me as the scorpion!

Yeah, I thought chess was referring to you as well.

I was giving it a go on that one Acadian map. I'd just keep spawning into the center base, picking up a Warhawk, getting it jacked up and picking up a new one. It was really sad when I'd respawn in the base and find no waiting Warhawks because I'd destroyed them so quickly they didn't have enough time to regenerate.

I don't mind you engaging, I figure I might as well deal with you while learning. Better you than five guys all at once. My biggest problem is that when I'm flying I can't make weapons/frag adjustments fast enough. I'm doing marginally better at evasion, but for some reason my brain skips steps when I'm in the air and I end up getting myself locked up for target practice. I managed to find a TOW last night and fire it at you, but I missed. Bummer. I have no sense of direction so I couldn't find that TOW spot again either.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Cool.

I'm happy to share the TOW locations if you ask. You guys give me a hard time for using them from far away, but I generally like to use them close up, like a regular missile. I don't like the idea of being vulnerable for a long flight.

I think the appropriate observation is: we just like to give you a hard time -- your proximity to where we are when we 'plode is irrelevant. :P

Speaking of which...I had another one of those surreal moments in a death match where there were two guys both 100 yards from me but 25 yards from each other...and they were BOTH shooting at me. It was so funny, I had to ask why.
