Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Generally, I'd say just communicate with us. I usually make an effort to not spam the Warhawk too much, and I noticed on the island that ween ditched his beloved tank for the latter half of the map. These days, I don't fly much unless I'm behind or feeling overwhelmed, and I know ween isn't trying to pile on either (though he is damn good in that tank!)

I had a good time driving Chew around in the jeep...just driving and shooting!

Oh, and knives and nades was a good time too. With only 3 people, it wasn't the chaos it normally devolves into, but I thought it was good practice for aiming grenades on foot.

What's the sequence for quickly switching from driver's seat to machine gun in the jeep again?

chess, while you were driving me around last night, you asked me to pick up a rocket launcher. Am I able to use a launcher while in the machine gun spot? If so, how?

Press square(left button...I think it is square) and then down for turret, left for driver(I think up works too) and right for passenger and then let go.

No, you cannot use a rocket launcher or any other weapon in the jeep. I am guessing he wanted you to grab that so you could hop out and lob rockets at an oncoming tank.

Also, sorry if I was being too aggressive in parts last night. In the beginning of a game you dont know how things will turn out since it mixes the teams up every new game so I usually start out aggressive until I get a better feel for how the teams are going...especially with chess as a ref you never know when you are going to be put in the penalty box*cough*eucadia CTF*cough* so you gotta come out swinging. As chess said, just say something if things are not fun and we will mix things up. Certainly not any of our goals to suffocate any person or team.

I believe it is square, which will pull up a diagram of a jeep at the bottom right of the screen, and you pick a seat on the D-pad. Or just hit square and down.

We were getting strafed a bit by either Ofermod or Chris, and I had a rocket launcher already. What I pictured was him showing up to strafe us, both of us jumping out and hitting him with rocket launchers (two would take him out), and then us jumping back in and tearing across the landscape while his backpack floated to the ground. It was positively epic in my head.

As far as playing each week, it's going to be touch and go with me. Between trying to find a job, as well as dealing with some health matters, I'm usually wiped out by 9 pm most nights.

I'll make a good attempt to jump in, thought.

Maybe it was just me, but that was a nightmare over my headset.

You could use that as psychological warfare.

I really hope things start looking up.

If it makes you feel better, Chew will let you wrench him in the head with some wrenchy goodness.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I didn't read the forum before playing that's why I didn't know it was knives and nades only when I started the game. And the air mines, sorry for it also. Liked the practice in the beginning and the deathmatch almost to the end was brutal!
Had a lot of fun and still need to play more to become good at it. I tried kniving and it showed as if it was hitting but it seems that I was still far from the objective.
Hope to play next time with you guys again!

It was a pleasure to have you on Zeidos...and you did just fine.

No worries...I don't mind reminding folks once or twice...just glad you had fun.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

So despite only having internet through my phone here in LA... I have found a way to tether my ps3 to my phone and get online. I played a bunch of Uncharted 2 beta this morning and was surprised that it worked. [commercial]Thank god I have an unlimited data plan and free tethering through Sprint.[/commercial]

So I'm gonna try and play this coming Tuesday and see how it works out.

Also, chess, maybe you read this thread more than other threads and don't check your psn messages but http://forum.dvdtalk.com/9497678-post135.html.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

TL,

I'm away from my PS3 for a few days...on a road trip...so I haven't been able to get on PSN. Musick did send me a beta code, and I'm really looking forward to checking Uncharted 2 out.

It's also great to hear that you'll be trying to jump in. I'll be interested in seeing how it works over a cell.

Ok. I had just gotten an extra code and was going to pass it on to you. Glad to hear you got all set up.

As to me playing on my cell, please let me know if it causes any problems and I will easily jump out of the game.

You are the man. I'm hoping to get that code loaded tomorrow.

I think worst case is that you glitch a little bit, which we'll deal with...but I don't think Warhawk uses all that much bandwidth unless you're hosting.

Clan invite sent to Zeidos.

Anybody else still need the "warlord" trophy?

Thanks Chess! I already accepted the invitation. Is tomorrow going to be around the same time? I will try and read the forum before coming in like last time.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Always at 7 CST unless I have internet issues.

It's been quiet in the thread this week. I hope lots of folks show up.

Apologies to Whistlersteve, who sent me an invite in Burnout last night. I was just about to go to bed when you sent it.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I think I'm going to ditch Zones this week, as they rarely turn into interesting games. It should mostly alternate between CTF and TDM with just a bit of Collection. The 10 minute dogfight is still a keeper, I think, and I'll load some expansion maps at the end of the night.

We can launch with Knives & 'Nades again if you guys enjoyed that. It'll be a traditional DM either way.

I should be on tonight. I moved my PS3 to another TV. It's further away from my chair so I have to find a usb extension cord for my headset.

Any feelings either way on Knives & Nades for the lobby?

Sounds like a plan. I should probably be on at the same time as always.

I'd say "yes" if we knew there would be more than 3 people during the whole map.
