I was kind of surprised by your performance on that map. The only time I actually had fun during the lobby was when I threw a mine on my jeep and kamikaze'd Steve (who was also driving a jeep)! When I recommended mines I honestly thought we could come up with fun and restrained ways to use them. Given the people we play with every week, I thought it was a pretty safe bet and fair request that no one would do what you did. You did prove your point (to me at least), and I certainly learned my lesson. I won't ever ask for them again.

The threat to get booted hurt a little, I won't lie. For one because I really am not as bad with the TOWs or binculars as everyone seems to think. I didn't even use the binoculars after the TDM match (except for ONCE during the Hero game). With the TOWs, if my team was ahead I would not TOW the flag carrier (except for once or twice when it was nic/Brian). In fact, when my team is ahead I'm usually the first person to chill out. I know I'm not that good to begin with, but I always do it as a courtesy nonetheless.

I really don't like conflict so I feel bad about having to defend myself there or voice my opinions on something that frustrated me, but those two things I couldn't let go of. Also, I want to apologize to my team mates for my performance in the last two matches I played. I was being butt hurt about the kick threat and just flew around doing jack shit. So, sorry to my team, I was acting like a baby and it won't happen again.

Now, on to the fun and funny from last night: Chess team killing WhistlerSteve and Eroc (WITH A TOW OMGOMGOMG) was quite possibly the funniest thing I've ever witnessed on the game. I saw the whole thing go down and listening to them groan afterward was just hilarious. Someone already mentioned this, but hearing nic and brian bitch each other out was also a highlight. I also really enjoyed the Hero map.

Yeah, I'm still looking forward to next week.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, Slider, so sorry about that...and DAMN I WISH YOU HAD A MIC! I hate talking to someone who can't talk back. In a year, I've only booted one person, so it's not something that I idly threaten to do. It just looked to me like you'd been spamming TOWs for a few maps in a row.

I'd been listening to (I think) flip, Chew and others groan about TOWs for quite a while, and I try to take an active role in everybody having some sense of fairness and fun. It was when you TOWed me on the collection map that I knew for sure just how bad it was because I was completely unarmed, on foot, and nowhere in the vicinity of any objective. I'm sure it made it sound like I was "butt hurt" that you killed me, but it was really just confirmation of a trend that I was already picking up on. I'd also spent the entirety of the previous map grabbing TOWs and "disposing" of them just so you couldn't get them...something I shouldn't have to do.

That said, I really do enjoy having you in the game, so please don't get the impression otherwise. Just think of TOWs like the tactical nukes that they are and don't use them unless you really feel like you have to. That's all I ask. If a number works better for you, ration yourself 3 TOWs per map (preferably with 2 used on flip).

On the mines thing, the fact is that I just holed up in that building for just about the whole map...nobody had to come in there at all.

And yeah, TOWing eroc and Steve was funny as hell...especially eroc wanting to "report an infraction".

I don't recall that game getting out of hand at all, unless I'm thinking of a different map.

The Collection game on Eucadia ended up pretty lopsided, but it was a comeback in the beginning, and the Vaporfield Glacier CTF started out 3-0. Otherwise, all of the games were pretty close.

He's talking about island outpost, remember, it was the match where you were giving eroc a hard time because even though they were ahead 3 or 4 points he still kept going and capturing the flag? Yeah, it only being seven TOWs was a gift, nic.

How do you find 7 consecutives TOWs in one game unless you were only planning to TOW all the time!

The score in that game was actually close (either 1-0 or 2-0)...but we never really had a chance, so I get it. That's usually when I start TOWing people too...when I feel like it's the only way to stay in the game.

The game I was giving eroc a hard time on was Express Lane on the Glacier, which was 3-0, almost 4-0 before somebody backed off.

Incidentally, I don't think I like that map. Because there's only one zone to capture and your "base" has so few vehicles to start, it's really easy to get overrun. I hate spawning with no options, no vehicles and a Warhawk bearing down on you. Communique is a much better map IMO.

That map has two TOWs, so you can get 7 of them fired off in about six or so minutes if you're lucky.

on the glacier map, after we went up 3-0. I just started flying the warhawk in loops above your base. every once in a while I would try to ball someone.

Yeah...I love spawning in the only place I can spawn with no vehicles, no weapons and a Warhawk circling overhead and balling me "every once in a while"...especially when I can't tell whether it's you or eroc.

You gotta love eroc...dude doesn't care whether he's up 3 or down 3...like he's on a lithium drip.

All, any thoughts on Fast Lane vs. Communique?

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

For the record, I hate the binoculars way more than the TOW. If I complain about being TOW'd its a matter of frequency on any particular map. It might be because I've also become chess' whipping boy when he needs a good TOW and eroc is nowhere to be found.

@ Chew,

Nice.

@ flip,

You're somewhere behind eroc, slider, digi, and z on my "whipping boy" list.

Some days... it definitely doesn't feel that way. Probably because at many given moments slider's on your team, digi's not in the game and Z is off being useful somewhere else. Which leaves me standing there doing this as the fire rains from the sky.

For what it's worth, I only seek you out when I feel like you are seeking me out, usually in lieu of doing, as you put it, "something useful".

Seriously...don't mean to pick on ya puddin'.

I only seek you out when you deserve it.

And you deserve it when you're in the air.

And you're always in the air.

So you always deserve it.

My logic is flawless.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Just didn't wan't flip to get too big for his britches...have to remind him where he is in the pecking order. Also, I forgot fucking Steve in my list!

As for flip's "logic":

1. You'd ball me in a millisecond if I were on the ground and you had the opportunity...whether it was of any strategic value or not.

2. Your logic is circular in that you generally have to take me down from the air, which means you are also in the air, which means you ALSO deserve it.

3. So there.

To flip and chess, an appropriate quote:

"Truly, you have a dizzying intellect…"

Now that you mention it, I do miss watching curling for twelve hours a day.
