You sounded great Chew. Everybody who was mic'd did with the possible exception of whistlersteve, who sounded a bit garbled.

That was a fun set of matches. Bought Warhawk and the expansions when they were on sale, but I had only played for a few hours before tonight - hence the constant suicides and lack of skill. It was useful to figure out how to use the different weapons like the binoculars and the healing thing in addition to getting a feel for the maps. Will definitely try to play again next week.

Had a great time as always. Even started to get a feel for the jetpacks on that last DM with chess and digi. Flying around in the jetpack firing rockets is wicked fun.
Next time I'll try to practice with the Warhawk some more. I played one more public game after everyone signed off to work with the Warhawk but my team apparently didn't understand the concept of Collection so I had to start driving the jeep around to pick up wanderers with Cores and no vehicle.

I do get feedback from digiwok, but his voice is clear. He's using a bluetooth, I think...and perhaps his sensitivity is set a bit high.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
I don't know if you guys noticed, but I spent VERY little time flying last night. Basically only when I got desperate.
It was actually kind of fun to mix it up and try different stuff in vehicles and on foot. Flying can actually get a bit repetitive in that you basically arm up, attack, grab life, arm up, attack, grab life...etc.

Then you starting flying, the tide turned, and we ended up with half your team's score.

But I couldn't have flown more than 5 minutes in that 25 minute map.
I'd usually get in a plane just for transport to a tank or jeep because the map was so big, but then I'd think..."just one cluster bomb".

The zones map on Archilapegos or whatever it is called was at least more interesting because we had more people. With just 2 on a team there is just too much juggling unfortunately.

Right, but that is also what makes zones with 2x3 not fun when one of the three hops in a plane to jet across the map to take one of the 5 zones that our 2 people cant get to. Planes are not just a problem with attacking, but also with transport. At least if you have to drive on the ground to get back to the zone we are fighting for then it at least gives us a chance to maybe hold you off...all the while you can just take over the other 4 zones that we can't get to in time.

I really make an effort to moderate...or more specifically, to keep games close. The first thing I do on every map, before I even spawn, is check to make sure the teams aren't too lopsided. I switched to weaker teams 3-4 times last night to balance them or if my team gets too oppressive.
You wouldn't notice most times, since I don't say anything, but I really do make an effort to keep folks from getting beat up on. Every now and then, I slip up, but in my defense, I didn't fly until we were WAYYYYY behind on that map.
FWIW, I thought that was a pretty fun zones map...or it would have been with more people.

...and don't get the wrong idea folks.
Most of the night, we had 6-8 people on. It just waned a bit the last hour and a half. We were down to 5 at 9:30 and down to 3 at 10:00.
I had as much fun in that 3-man jetpack map as I had all night. Jetpacks and flamethrowers and rockets...oh my!!!

Flipperbaby: Where the hell is the other team?
frizby: Behind us taking all our zones.
Flipperbaby: Eh. We'll get back there eventually. Wait... how are we losing?

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I think I remember almost that exact conversation! It was about the time we were trying to capture their home base...which cannot be captured!

I was spinning around at the top of the spire sparring with ween once, and because of the way your guy pushes to the edge of the screen when you turn, I spent about 20 seconds CHASING MYSELF!!!

Why can't I get locked on to that dude...and why does he move exactly when I do???
Oh...waitaminnit.

Don't forget jumping. We were also jumping around the flag still to make it go faster. I was only looking at the map above and not the actual flag meter to even know it was the base flag. The zone was still the wrong color on the map. Keep jumping!

btw, while you cannot capture the home base, you can knock it down to level 1 or whatever...so, there is value in attacking the home base

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
While I appreciate the moral support, it was WAYYYY beyond that point...and having our whole team there was...just dumb.
But I gotta say...our tank caravan was pretty cool while it lasted!

To our credit... if you can call it that... Ofermod did not get out of the tank on that occassion. It may have only been two hopping idiots.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
I remember all that you guys are talking about. The tank convoy was awesome, and the 3 of us catching nothing was great. I did laugh when I saw you 2 hopping around.I had a blast while it lasted. I got on in time to see a full house in the warhawks only level (a great addition) and that was very cool with all the new faces.
I gotta say I dig being on your team Ween, I always want to go into battle side by side.... but when were on opposite teams, I gotta make sure your the first person I put a bullet in
