Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Good games, overall, last night.
I am sorry that I tormented K-Town a little bit too much (mostly on Archipelago), but he was just always right there and doing something of which I didn't approve. Also, stalking Rubadub with "Buuuudda" chants wasn't necessary... but it was fun.
Needed a good diversion last night so it was good to blow some shit up. Somedays you're just glad it's Motherfuckin' Tuesday.

It was actually really nice to cut loose on that last collection map, as I usually moderate my play quite a bit. I was on a tear that map!
Rubadub had a blast, so no worries. The guys at work all love King of the Hill, and I think it might find its way into the more populated part of the night.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
The game was 1-0 in our favor for about the first ten minutes, and then you guys got one making it 1-1, then we got another about thirteen minutes later making it 2-1, and that's how the game ended. I stop binoc spamming when the game is no longer close, if we were up by two I wouldn't have been doing it. You can create whatever rule that you like, but after two TOWs I'll feel compelled to whip out the mines.

TOWs are too powerful and too easy to use with relative impunity...just like the binocs. I don't intend to kill off binocs because they are a fun weapon with some limitations, but when used too often, I really do feel that they impact other people's fun.

KTown: "I had a jetpack, and all I could do was run backwards."
chess: "You can thrust backwards with the jetpack."
KTown: [as deadpan as could be] "Not if you're stupid."
Doesn't seem as funny typed out, but trust me...

I initially moderated and eventually banned TOWS because they limited other people's fun. Remember that I was the only one who really knew how to use them at the time.

You have to use this link to the EA Store:http://eastore.ea.com/store/ea/Conte...=1295511493272
And then Click on the 50% off plus free shipping promo ad before searching for the game. Do that, and you should get the price chess mentioned.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Got a PM from a prospective player, and I answered his questions, but I thought I'd post them here anonymously in case other folks want to chime in:
So I just bought my first PS3 in December and I saw your suggestion to another poster in a similar situation to pick up Warhawk and play with other DVDTalkers on Tuesday nights. I'm intrigued and have a few questions:
1. Who from DVDTalk plays? This isn't a big deal, but I'd be curious to know if anyone I know plays.
2. Is it still a noob-friendly zone? What about if I only have the regular game and not the expansion packs?
3. I see the game is under $10 used on Amazon. Is there anything detrimental to getting a used copy in terms of being able to play the game?

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Nice. I lost my 60GB, so I've been there.I just noticed a trend amongst all of my fat owning friends...folks who I know take care of their stuff, and it was looking like fats had a fairly short shelf-life. Maybe 2-3 years with regular use.
Hopefully the cooler chips in the slim will make a difference, but I'm sure my drive will go out or something.
