Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
I hardly got to play last night other than some early Grinder shenanigans with Nic and getting utterly and completely worked over on Eucadia, which was kind of disappointing.
The highlight for me was pushing my own team's APCs into the canyon on Vaporfield.
Wookie for sure on Friday...maybe a bit tonight.

I think Slider had a lucky rabbit's foot in that collection map where he took out Z and me. We were in close quarters and I had my knife out. I swung at him at least 3 times before he got me.
But, brilliant strategy on that CTF map later.

Highlight of my night was on Vaporfield I grabbed a burning jeep and set it in the middle of the central highway. I was watching Slider trying to run away with a flag and i saw him coming my way through the sniper scope. Thoght about sniping him shot and missed so I placed a mine on the jeep and giggled as he ran into the flaming jeep. Instant IED.

When you're short manned in Collection or CTF, you absolutely have to be effective in the air, or you'll never be able to chase down cores/flags. If I'd been on the ground, the result would have been the same or worse.

Anyone want to school me on the wookie reference?
I found a server where it seemed like it was consistently the same people doing teamwork really well (Capture the Flag) for like three games straight and it was a blast. Next game, all of us were scattered between the two teams and everyone was complaining that no one was working together and it ended in a tie game. Next game, most of us were back on the same team, confirming on our mics, and sure enough, we pulled off teamwork again and won.
Amazing the difference it makes when people step up and make plans / fill roles. I stepped up and said I'm holding defense in this zone right outside their base and I need three people to stay with me. Boom, it happened. Another guy said okay we need a three-jeep convoy with two tanks and two Warhawks to sweep in and cover us as we get the flag. Boom, it happened. It was so cool.
Makes those games with no teamwork whatsoever all that much more frustrating (and easy to quit and find something more fun).

Glad you're finding some decent fun on the pub servers.
"Stabbing the Wookie" is a reference to Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (another game I guarantee you'd enjoy based on what you just said about team play). Some of the recon guys wear ghillie suits and just hang out and snipe. It's fun to sneak around hillsides and knife them in the nugget.
My favorite wookie stabbing video:

Your boy Bill?
No Slider tonight, but I did get to play with Shumway and a couple of my normal teammates. It was good times for sure.
Highlight was a synchronized knifing on two dudes by Shum and me.
The other highlight was an epic knife rampage where I jumped over a box and knifed a dude followed by two of his friends.

I didn't get home until 9:20, by the time I got settled in there were only 15 or so minutes until Maher came on, so I just decided to sit it out.
