Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
I enjoyed trying to air mine people on the ground on that "I didn't ask for mines" map. I was so over that map. I was done getting mined as I tried to clear mines and then evade the two tanks patrolling our end of the map.
Still... highlight of my night was flipping a mine on Slider's jeep on the second map as he ran me over with his jeep. Inconsequential, sure.... but wicked fun.
...and sorry Chew. I was blowing shit up in your base in horde mode because I knew that if anyone got in the air (namely digi) we'd lose the flag. So anything below that was of the opposing team got blow'd up. Basically horde mode doesn't work with lopsided teams like that anymore because, for the most part, we're all pretty competent. After you left we pretty much just backed off, played lax pressure and ended up in a tie. I think we were all just shocked we'd lost Chew we couldn't go on... Not even the acquisition of Slider could motivate us.

You don't say.
Here's a thought: Even with the DLC, you'd have less invested in Warhawk in its entirety than you do in map packs for Call of Douchey.
You've probably already spent more on lunches this week than the cost of Warhawk DLC...so pack a fucking lunch and rock some jetpacks already!

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
On King of the Hill, I spawn in the wide open. Our flag is gone, but Slider is still raping us at our base with our tank because, you know, he's Slider. He sees me, and I just stand there resigned to the fact that I don't have anything even remotely resembling a chance. I say something like, "I just spawned and have nothing, but if you want a cheap kill, go ahead". He looks at me for 4-5 seconds, I assume trying to decide how douchey to be....and he shoots me point blank, motionless, and unarmed...with a tank.

Also, I would have been more than happy to play a Slider vs. The World match, but it's not fun when someone says he's making you his 'pet project'
and is playing angry because he lost a match, so I decided not to do it and kept switching teams. But whatever, I still had fun most of the night.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
In general, and especially in horde mode, I never really understand why base raping is so bad. Yes, it sucks to be getting base raped, but it is not like the game starts out that way. The other team earned the ability to do it because either a> they fought hard for it or b> the other team just sat on their ass and let them do it. I suppose if you have been getting raped for 10 minutes then it is obvious the other team is never going to recover and the game is lost, however a few minutes of assault seems like fair play and no reason to immediately call shenanigans.
Also, maybe it is something that only happens when I am playing with you guys, in which case I will take that as a hint, but it seems like just about every game last night is just people getting their feelings hurt, throwing around accusations and just general complaining instead of playing the game. Am I the only one that feels that way? There were large chunks of time last night where I would just sit around doing nothing effective in the game at all and the general mood didn't change...so, I don't think I am the only variable in the equation here, although I know half the time when I am sitting doing nothing my name still comes up in some sort of accusation or excuse

I did Captain Obvious.
You are correct.
$12 for Warhawk plus $17ish for the DLC is a great discount compared to 59.99 for MW2 and $14.99 x 2 for the DLC.
But consider this :
- the only time I play Warhawk is with you guys. I consider myself to be awful but I have fun with you guys (and gals)
. The few times I've attempted to go into pub matches it has been truly sad.
It's slaughter on an epic scale.
It's like playing in a room full of Slider's who are eerily coordinated to rove in Douchey packs looking specifically for newbs like me to pwn.
not fun at all. makes me want to
- MW2 I play with both the usual suspects and I go into pub matches. I consider myself to be pretty good but streaky, and I think I can hold my own when motivated.
Plus I logged tons of hours in CoD4 and even played on Gamebattles and played in a couple of competitions for CoD4.
It's obvious i love me some CoD and some First Person Shooters.
They just call to me.

You, sir, are incorrect. I pack lunches everyday. The cost of a wife, 2 err soon to be 3 kids and 2 dogs are forcing that issue and have turned me into a cheap bastard. I am fucking tired of turkey/ham/roast beef wraps and leftovers.
I want some Moe's.
I'd like some chinese takeout.
I'd love some Jimmy John's super tasty subs.
But NO. I sacrifice for my family.

All good...sometimes just feels like you are more interested in kill ratios than you are in team objectives. Your style is to play low risk (binocs, missile turrets, etc.), and it can be a bit frustrating no matter which team you're on.
I had fun overall as well...was just a bit aggrevated at the aggressiveness in some areas.

Im with Cruz, that is how I approach all of these games...if my feelings got hurt every time Nic beat me at something, I would have "put a glock in my mouth and made a brain slushy" a long time ago...

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
Last night was the first time in awhile that I approached not having fun...Maybe it was because i started the night with a headache, but when i joined, on Tau Crater, i spent the first 5 minutes trying to get up onto the platform, never seeing anyone, but constantly getting killed, and it was frustrating, and I thought, "am i in the mood for this tonight?"...and it did get better, but still there was inordinate amount of bitching going on...and I fear, with so many newer people with us, as Nic said, we are chasing people away (<---one sentence 12 commas).
I also think we need to try a match where we allow air mines, because depending on how good we get with them, they could even out the air superiority, Friz or Flip are chasing me, I lay a mine down, maybe they blows up, maybe next time they arent as aggressive, who knows? i think they are different than landmines, they are cheap kills (pronounced cheap thrills)...

Wn I used to play COH/COV (city of heroes) I named a character that was a healer after my wife, since she is a RN...everytime she would bitch about me playing I would quickly change characters and be like "look baby, it's you!"...worked every time.
