Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

The "hunkering down" was actually my concern, as it would take away some of the suspense. I think the survivors need the added element of potential traitors/douchebags to keep them on their toes...after all, last man standing wins!

I'll put team damage at 30% or less and see how that goes.

I actually thought about using Northern Bridge for this, but I remembered that it has tanks along with Warhawks. Too bad, because I think the layout would be great.

Aren't you PSN+? If so, get the DLC combo pack for free.

Otherwise, see Amazon link on previous page and more info on potential PSN+ deal.

Hmm, we are playing 2 different games then not quite sure about the need for suspense, especially with team kills on. Zombie mode by definition is horde mode...no need for suspense when you are out numbered. What you are looking for is more of a Mike Myers type game then which you should talk to the Call of "Douchey" guys about in more detail. I dont really think warhawk is suited for that though as third person doesn't really allow for as much interesting hunting.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Signed in tonight as PFCHudson hoping to play some. Realized that I didn't have any of the DLC. Got back in after downloading and my mic wasn't working very well, didn't matter because you guys finished before I had a chance to do anything.

I'm hoping I can play next week. Earliest I can be on is 8 MST but more likely 9 MST. I've got three demanding children and a beautiful wife who needs constant servitude.

We tend to play 7-10:30 CST, so it might be hard for you to get much in before we sign off.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Sorry Sauce. If I'd known you were jumping in, I would have loaded maps accordingly.

Maybe it's not Zombies then...but it feels more fun (or at least more funny) to me with teamkills. And I had fun in it again this week despite the minor delay.

Awesome, awesome night....lots of fun all around. Really enjoyed seeing sauce and OG in the game along with a pretty decent showing of regulars...probably 12 or so at the peak of the night. Lots of good games, and everybody seemed to be in good spirits.

Lots of highlights for me:

- K&N is always a riot...and that map is perfect for it.
- Showing Cruz my BALLS on Archipelago...right on cue.
- Suicide balls on Steve's APC the millisecond before he popped his shield
- Driving my jeep (and flag) past 3 enemy tanks on an epic drive across Vaporfield Glacier.
- Can't believe I forgot to honk!
- Taking out 3 guys in two jeeps with a couple of grenades in the first 10 seconds of Zombie
- Grabbing the red flag at the end of Badlands and hiding with it in their base
- Taking Chew on a ride in my jeep only to see him get sniped off the turret about 5 seconds in.
- Trying to show sauce and Cruz how the jetpacks work, and Slider blasting sauce with a tank at the last possible second.
- Fucking Slider.
- Archipelago with Digi was fun...forgot how much I missed a good challenging horde mode. Yes, it was more challenging than the score, particularly early on.

I used bigger maps than usual on Vaporfield and Badlands, and both turned out pretty good. Also, jetpacks galore, which may potentially break the game, but I'm not sure we're good enough with them to exploit them. I'm sure Slider will be the first to sort it out though.

Missed Flip/R2/Brian.

Cool...always good to have new folks in the game. Need you to fix that mic though...brutal feedback.

Hopefully we'll see you jump in right as some of the more eastern guys get off.

Welcome!

I haven't played Warhawk in awhile but would be interested in possibly joining you guys next week. What DLC do I need to get in on the fun?

We typically use all three DLC packs. But, we certainly accommodate new players by doing DLC-free nights. You just have to let chess know when you'll be on.

Are you PSN+? You can get all of the DLC free right now.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Yeah, what we play definitely isn't zombie. Friz getting three kills in the opening 30 or so seconds kind of proves that. A zombie mode is supposed to be extremely challenging for the zombies, but in Warhawk it isn't. On CoD it sometimes takes our zombie three or four minutes to get a first kill and sometimes we have to have a volunteer switch on purpose just to help them out. I think we definitely need weapons limitations on the zombie. Maybe K&N only.

In CoD we only allow knives for the zombies, and only bullet weapons and stationary explosives for the survivors. So no rocket launchers, mines, binocs, grenades, etc. would be allowed if we adapted those rules here.

To be fair, I got those three kills with grenades, but I get your point and am open to the knives/nades suggestion.

I don't know what to call what we're doing (Infected? Mob?) but I generally like it as it is...including team kills...and it will get better as we learn the hiding spots on the 2-3 maps that it will work on.

I guess I'll be the first to come out and say it that I dont enjoy whatever it is we are playing. It is just a more ridiculous TDM which is more of just DM which I don't find very enjoyable usually anyway. We should just play DM at that point considering "zombies" were killing zombies and humans killing humans...ugh, that is DM. Not sure why all of the sudden team killing douchebagery at a larger scale is more entertaining. Grinder K&N DM is infinitely more entertaining.

I would vote for a more true zombie mode as Slider outlined as that is a large enough departure to be interesting.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I also like the idea of more true zombie mode - K&N for zombies and bullets knives and nades for the living - with the living hunkering down in a certain area and having to move around as a group

If we're going to have the living hunkering down in a group, then it would be wise to take the grenades away from the zombies.

Fair enough.

Because it's DM with the objective of being the last one alive. I've had fun both weeks with it, and I've heard plenty of laughing over my headset during the matches.

I think what he is suggesting is what we did last night (irrelevant team killing) with K&N zombies, which I'm cool with...just didn't have the time to explain it to players not in the forum.

I like the idea of a group running around together, but I doubt we could pull it off. Zombies do what...hide and wait?

Can zombies have flamethrowers? I like flamethrowers.

Edit to add:

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Here's how we play in call of duty:

Zombies have only a knife (and other things Warhawk doesn't have -- blast shield, smoke grenades), Zombies are slowed down by heavy guns (maybe no jumping in Warhawk?). Zombies can only knife, once you've been knifed by a zombie you become a zombie. If you knife a zombie, you must become a zombie (this rule stems from being too close to a zombie = being infected).

The survivors can have any bullet-shooting guns (and a few things Warhawk doesn't have -- claymore, C4, but these can be offset by having grenades). The survivors pick a location on the map and hunker down there and defend it. The Zombie's objective is to breach the defense and infect as many survivors as he can, if he dies then he must try again. The last surviving person become the zombie in the next round. No team killing, no hide-and-seek.

It can be translated to Warhawk, but it will take some trial and error.
