Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Did a system reset on the PS3 and tested Warhawk on it. So far so good but I know it won't last long. So I might be able to play or not today.

since cruz will be on early, maybe save a death match for later. You can use grinder for that.

Or he could maybe not diss our game just because another overpriced expansion pack came out for this year's random Call of Doody.

Yeah, I'll do that. Big lobby...first expansion will be Grinder...vehicular manslaughter rules of engagement (i.e. nothing that shoots allowed except the pistol).

I might be playing split-screen with Marcus, so be nice to frizby2. I know how much you guys love to see frizby die, but please don't take it out on him.

15 people on at one point.

Tons of craziness...just an all around fun night.

Grinder made for a good final game of the night...especially with that many people on...still had 8 when I shut it down.

I showed Red Faction to Marcus, and he's all about it...but he'll probably never show up.

More tomorrow...need sleep.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Last thought. I liked the big lobby. Much more casual and deliberate.

I didn't get to play much of it.

One things for sure, the layout of Acropolis Assault makes it much easier to defend.

Hey...I showed up. Had to give some love to Warhawk. Had a heck of a time getting into the lobby. None of you guys were showing up on my buddies list even though I could see you all on my friends list. Flip was the only one on the buddies list and he was offline. I was finally able to show up in the game once he jumped on. Really weird.

I had no idea you could do split screen and online with Warhawk!!

Died alot but still had fun. Still figuring out the Warhawks.

Dicked around with RF demo and the destruction is fun - I LOVE Remote Charges. Ran around and ignored the objective a few times just being a space asshole. My copy has shipped so I can't wait.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

good night overall. There were 2 matches back to back last night that were really lopsided, but other than that I thought it was good. I did like the bigger lobby, much more room to hide.

No idea. I can't remember it ever being an issue before.

You can do 4-player split-screen online in Warhawk.

For the most part, if you lost one of those lopsided ones, you won the other...assuming you're talking about Supply Chain and Zones. When you get up to 7 on 7, it gets exponentially tougher to balance the teams...but I try.

I could see me loading that type of map up more often in the future. I'll probably continue to have Grinder at the end of the night too. It's a nice lighthearted wrap-up for the night.

I don't generally feel bad for Flip...but that was just brutal.

On that map, you pretty much have to bring a vehicle to the flag if you want to have any chance of getting it out of there. Sometimes you'll get out on foot and down the hole, but your odds are NOT good...especially with the flaming turtle of death waiting for you.

Lopsided is an understatement. One match was Friz, Me, Mrs. Brian, Lee, and Don vs. Flip, Chew, Steve, Nic, inlinesean and Brian. I quit about two minutes before that match ended and played the RF:G demo for about 20 minutes before coming back, so I missed Zones.

It was frustrating because it seemed like at any one point there were two or three people in the air, two or three people defending their flag, and one or two people making flag runs. During the first five minutes I kept trying to run some flags, but could never get into the base. I used the binocs to take out the missile turret once and almost got out of the base, then I did it again and it was flip, so he ended up TOW'ing me and I just said fuck it and spent the rest of the time dicking around with him. That match was quite literally unwinnable for us.

Just FYI, you don't need buddies to get into the game. Go to Online, sort the available matches by title and click into the DVDTalk game manually. That's the way I always do it. Just seemed easier.

I have it saved as a favorite, that way you can just go to the favorites menu and it's the only one listed.

I was trying to do that too but couldn't find the DVDTalk game either.

I sat in a tank for most part on that map taking out whoever came in. I got it handed back to me the next map when chew must have killed me 20 times. "Haven't you learned anything, nic?"

It would have been 16 if I would have been able to play.

Do we need a "(PS3)" at the end of the thread title now?

Nope...haven't asked for a change to this thread since April 09.

Slider actually asked me yesterday.

I'm trying not to draw more attention than is necessary. My fear is that they'll want to combine all of these into one thread, and I don't need any Call of Doody in my Warhawk thread. That's like putting a trailer park in Beverly Hills.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

The main issue I had with this thread title is the fact that night isn't capitalized. I don't know why, it just messes with my OCD.

Looks like we have another update to my "Slider affiliations" journal:
  • Mute
  • Deaf
  • Blind
  • Motion Sickness
  • OCD
