I'm always up for a random Zones or Collection map. Mostly because it's always fun to listen to the complainers when one comes up. "RABBLE!! RABBLE!! RABBLE!" Good times.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

IIRC, Valley Battle is a good collection map...and zones really favors flyers, but I'm game. What's a good zones map? I'm thinking something in Badlands or maybe Tau Crater.

My only concern is that we have all these new guys who haven't even figured out how to contribute in CTF, so I'm sure collection will be a CF. Luckily, they are all right here, and I can try to explain.

Any chance of a short hero map in the middle, maybe 10 minutes to act as a break?

Whoah...that's different! Hero is a team game, right?

Either way, I'll do it...no reason it couldn't go 20 minutes...I'll just keep the score-cap low.

I remember that hero is more fun on a small map rather than a large one.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

From the Warhawk Wiki:

This is a team-based game mode in which one member of each team is randomly selected to be their team’s Epic Hero. Players score points for their team by killing the enemy Hero or by killing enemies while they’re the Hero. The team that reaches the score limit first (or has the most points when time runs out) wins the game.

It boils down essentially to being a huge battle between 2 armies that are being lead by 2 Epic Heroes.

While you’re the Hero, you get a variety of special power-ups.

You get very high damage resistance which is like having 500% health. All of your weapons do twice the damage. Take down a warhawk with 1 RPG rocket! And the armor-piercing values for your weapons are increased so that some weapons that normally can’t hurt vehicles like Tanks and Turrets, now can!

You aren’t the Hero for the entire game. Once you are selected as the Hero, you have a limited amount of time to go on your berserker-blitz-rampage-of-carnage-awesomeness. There are some crazy visuals that are rendered when you’re the Hero. You glow your team color, you emit light the same color as your team, you growl a scary sound that strikes fear in you’re your foes, and of course, energy sparks.

Scoring is simple: If a Hero kills a player, he scores 1 point for his team. If a normal player, or more commonly, a group of players, kills the Hero, 1 point is granted for the team. If a Hero kills the other enemy Hero, then 2 points are scored for the team.

The downside for the Hero is that everyone is gunning for you! If you die, then a new Hero on you team is given the chance for Epic Hero Greatness.

Heroes are always displayed on the mini-map, and with a star no less!
I think the last time we tried this, it was on a map that was too small. I'd probably use something about the size of Badlands Fortress or Eucadia Urban Strike...probably the latter...with jetpacks.

Is there any way to put more TOWs and more Binoculars on each map?

Can we all just agree to pretend that Slider is the "hero" all night?

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I tend to seek Slider out when we play, which gets flip about half of his kills...so you'd think he'd be more appreciative!

Disliked is a bit strong. I actually kind of like playing with Slider. He just has evil/exploitative tendencies, which will be increasingly problematic as he gets better. He's like a competent version of nic.

If you weren't going after Slider, you'd be going after someone else. And yes, I do totally just wait until you're engaged with another target before I attack you. I'm such a bitch in the Warhawk. That is until you turn around... at which point I freak out and head directly into the nearest rock formation for the comforts of my suicidal tendencies.

But Slider.... man... after the third or fourth time I get TOW'd/binoculared/kamikaze balled by Slider, I'm ready for blood. Like when I put a bounty on his head and promised similar rewards for his own teammates in that TDM last week.
