I knocked Nic off his perch numerous times for you last night, Chew. One time I missed, but I knocked his warhawk off and I'm pretty sure he had to kill himself to get down.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I was trying to push him off and he jumped in my passenger seat. Suffice to say that I took him for a little ride...probably 2-3 minutes of reckless flying. You might have heard him say "I'm getting sick".

So I dropped on another mountaintop and told him he could hop out, but when he did exit, he got out on the wing and suffice to say he fell to his gruesome ragdoll death.

The highlights of my nights are always killing Slider and tormenting Nic.

It occurs to me that you may have only seen about half of the maps in the game...at least in Conquest. You are really in for a treat.

Edit to add list of free map expansions...and map pack 7 is better than Vietnam IMO: http://www.battlefieldbadcompany2.com/vip

Map pack 7 Trailer:
<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/nHApkRoK_Ls?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/nHApkRoK_Ls?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

Amazing that the map packs didn't cost $15 (points and laughs). Vietnam is the first paid download...though I'm convinced it's in the game update and just unlocks when you pay for it. Hence the big update.

DOUBLE HOLY CRAP!!!! @ chess you've put in like 72 hrs into the multiplayer!
More like 55. This game is bad ass...hooked me in a way that CoD never did...rewards team players instead of campers and twitchers. It also has an amazing destruction engine and looks better than CoD to boot...and it has tanks and dunebuggies
Spoiler:
motherfucker.

Most of them are just adding new modes to existing maps, but there are also some all-new maps. I almost solely play Conquest, so they are basically all new maps for me.

Played a bit with Ktown and Cruz last night. It took a bit for us to start traveling in a squad and capturing objectives, but we had about 15-20 minutes there where we were really rolling. A squad of four with two medics that is traveling together, reviving and healing each other, and spawning on each other is a force to be reckoned with...much scarier than a sniper or even a really good player running solo.

I had fun with you guys pre-CoD night. I've really gotta learn the maps. I just reallized I mainly played Rush mode. I surprised a couple of enemies on the second map with some douchey CoD moves with the engineer.

Yep...good times. It took 2 tries to get in a good rotation, but it worked out well in the end.

Such a great game.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Awesome times in BC2 tonight! Particularly those last couple of maps when it started getting more competitive.

At various points, it was Flip, Gonzo, Rubadub, Cruz, Lee, Digi, KTown and me, and despite some sniper issues here and there, I had a great time.

sniping
collecting dogtags
sniper hunting
collecting dogtags from unsuspecting snipers that you have hunted down
rocket launching unsuspecting snipers that you have hunted down from behind and then teabagging them

Bringing the douche

Around the office, we affectionately refer to BC2 as "stabbing the wookie".

"What are you doing tonight?"
"I think I'm gonna stab the wookie a bit."

"What'd you do last night?"
"Stabbed the wookie."

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Can somebody educate me on the differences between the two versions of BF:BC2? If most of the DLC is free, then why should I bother with the extra cost of an unopened, newer version of it?

The VIP code is the important thing.

Buy it new regardless, as any new copy will come with the VIP map packs (linked above). If you buy any version used, it will not come with the VIP code and you'll have to buy it separately for $10.

The ultimate edition also comes with 1943 (pretty cool, but you likely won't play it much) and Onslaught mode, which is sort of a coop/horde mode kind of thing.

For the purposes of playing with us, you could get the regular edition (if you can find it) but MAKE SURE YOU GET IT NEW. Otherwise, the UE is $38.99 shipped on Amazon and comes with $20 worth of DLC.

I want Onslaught, so I will get the UE. I'm going to give it a week to see if it drops in price. Have you fellas considered making an official day for this game?

though I'm not sure whether this game plays to your strengths...and particularly your lack of mic. Communication with your squad is pretty important if you want to do well.

I'm thinking every day that I'm not playing Warhawk in the short term. My office is committed to Fridays in the longer term.

Stabbing the wookie!

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I really want to put in a request for something other then hardcore conquest. The lack of marking and the map greatly outweighs that one shot one kill stuff in my opinion. Rush mode is some good fun too. Is there any interest in onslaught as well? I have not had a chance to play that yet and am interested in trying it out.

Starting to seem like we need a thread for bfbc2 now as well...

I prefer hardened, but I don't mind mixing it up.

Gonzo started this, and he plays hardened, so it was my first exposure. I will say that outside of hardened, the shotguns and sniper rifles feel out of balance. I have to put half a clip in a dude just to finish him off and they still get one-shot kills.

I'm up for any mode you guys want to try except for TDM. I'm sure those are a sniper-fest.

Nah...just a diversion for the Warhawk crew.
