Next week, just make a point to spawn up there when you get sniped and come out swinging while you're still invisible. It'll only take a couple of knifings from invisible dudes for that shit to stop.

I've never gone up there because it's not a terribly effective strategy with zero spawn time...especially in CTF.
It's a base component. Each team has access to it through out the entire map. When it comes time for you to spawn, you use your directional pad to shift your spawn location to the hill. When you spawn, you have to climb up a series of ladders before you can get up to the very top of the building, but then you aren't invincible anymore anyway, so it's pretty much whoever gets their first keeps it.

I see.

But all you can do up there is snipe or binoc, and you're never more vulnerable than when you're looking through a scope.

Protect your neck.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Also, I'd like to point out that Brian spawn camped as a hero before I did on Grinder. People like to criticize when it's the other team using dirty tactics, but they leave their team mates alone when they do the same exact thing [first]. I don't know what I did to make you so angry last night, Chess. During the lobby I never let the binoculars go off. I've made it no secret that I hate knives & nades, so I was just teasing people. I thought that was pretty obvious.

During the first Capture the Flag map your team was up three to zip through out the entire game and some how I still came out the bad guy there, too. Then, on the next capture the flag map I used a lightening ball on you while you were hiding in one of those base caves and then grenade'd you, so I could save the flag. I had a TOW but didn't use it on purpose. Then you killed me, flew over and spawn killed me with a TOW. Still not quite sure what I did wrong there either. I thought maybe you were just joking around, but you sounded pretty pissed off at me through out the entire night yesterday. So, tell me what I did and I'll try not to do it again.

All in all I had a great time last night though. Sniping Steve while he was bincoluar'ing other people on Northern Bridge was a lot of fun. I let K-Town kill me a few times, but he's getting too good with that rocket launcher so I might have to get a little more aggressive with him. Flip teamkilling me was great, but I got him back a few times. R2 tried to get me once, so I had to suicide ball him for good measure. Great time this week, looking forward to next Tuesday.

It was obvious. I just take some ownership in moderation and making sure everybody has a good time. I don't think that folks generally enjoy your teasing in K&N, as it's plenty hectic already. Maybe folks'll back me up, maybe not. Generally, if you know we're doing K&N and 7 and you don't want to play with us, show up at 7:30. No problem.

I do hate spawn camping. I hope it doesn't ruin Hero, because I really like the mode generally.

I wasn't pissed...mostly joking...partly just sending the message that I'm watching. You also got off on the wrong foot with me in K&N.

I talk trash throughout the night, and since you can't be bothered to get a mic working, you're an easy target. At any rate, I do appreciate you moderating your TOWs a bit...and maybe even fighting your exploitative instincts.

BTW, we were never up 3-0 on the first CTF. The final score was 2-1, and we spent the last 4-5 minutes just playing defense. All of the games were reasonably close last night other than Grinder, which was 62-23 at one point.

I remember you killing me in the bunker. Anybody else would have gotten a "nice shot". It was a pretty sweet play.

K-Town has been practicing online a bit, but he's nowhere near ready for us to fully cut loose on him. He doesn't really have any video game background to fall back on at all. We've all at least played some kind of shooter or adventure game.

Glad you're having fun...just understand that my goal is to make sure that everybody does.

Don't worry about it. I hate collection so I was just messing around on that map anyway. And I did get some payback a little later.

Yeah...we don't do well on Collection games. It's kind of similar to CTF, and I really prefer CTF by quite a margin. I think I'll trim that mode from the rotation for a bit unless there's objection.

I had a Zones map loaded last night, but it was the 10th map, and we didn't get there. Zones gives flyers a huge advantage anyway, and I don't think it quite fits our group.

ive never played zones, so i dont know why it gives flyers an advantage, but maybe that would be a good horde mod map...

The basic principle is just capturing and protecting Zones, so being able to TOW/Ball the flag area, land/capture and jump to the next zone is a big advantage. It also makes it easy to leapfrog the other team and capture the zones behind them.

Every time I've ever tried it, it's been a blowout because all it takes is an extra body to defend a zone or a good flyer to destroy the balance.

It would NOT make a good horde-mode either. Really, CTF is the only horde friendly mode because there are only two places you should be...namely the two flags. If you have more than two places to be (Zones/Collection), it's tough work for two people.

Hero and TDM would actually give the advantage to the "non-horde", I think.

I remember when you Binoc me. I had fun yesterday, chasing a couple of times Slider when he was teasing with the binocs in K and N lobby.

I don't think I remember ever hearing you Wiz.

You may need to go to the start menu in-game and change from push to talk to open mic.

Are they $10 now or was this a recent sale? I know I missed one but that was I think over a year ago.

About 2-3 weeks ago. The full game was $15 and the expansions were $5 each or all 3 for $10.

Several of the guys got the game on PSN just to not have to deal with the disk.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I'm not sure if I'll make it this Tuesday. I have been invited to a Wizard Stick Masters day, basically you drink your height in beer cans. When you finish a beer you tape it to the bottom of your next one and so on through the day. It will take around 18 beers to match my height. We start drinking at noon and Warhawk is at 5pm my time. If I do make it I will probably be wasted so it could be interesting.

Well crap...maybe I'll just get drunk too!

Nic and Flip always play drunk, I think. It's really the only possible explaination for the quality of their play.
