Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
I was using this as the lobby for a while, and it worked out pretty well. It's sort of like South City on Badlands in that all the action ends up happening in one place, despite a number of interesting nooks and crannies. The only real downside is NO JETPACKS...and even if I could load them on there, there's really no verticality to the level to make them worthwhile.
But if you'll commit to actually show up this week...consider it done!

Yeah...I just think Express Lane is right on the verge of being too fast.
You can grab and plant a flag in probably 30 seconds, where Communique (despite being the same size) takes a bit longer due to the route being less direct and the bases being easier to defend (particularly from Warhawks).

In all seriousness though, maybe we should consider putting a cap on how many more flag captures a team can get over the other. Once the other team has three or more captures than my team, I pretty much just give up and dick around with warhawks and quit trying to capture or defend.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
The last two weeks, since you guys suggested that I manually balance, almost every game has been a one-flag win or a tie.
Ideas for this week thus far:
Loading one extra map in case we still have 10 people on at 10PM CST.
Any map that can have jetpacks will have jetpacks.
At least one really massive map...I'm thinking Eucadia or Badlands.
Island Outpost full map (shorter travel time than Over the Bridges and missile turrets for flag defense)
Vaporfield village lobby for Nic
Grinder! (with jetpacks if possible)
I kind of liked Pipeline...and will load it again if I can lose the dropship
Thoughts?

I think we should have jetpacks and knives and we can't leave one of the garages...so there will be like 12 people in there flying around?

I you like chaos, maybe I should just load Rumble Dome. Flip loves that one!
I'm almost certain that jetpacks aren't possible on any snow map, as the added vehicles are tied to the pack they came with and are only optional in the original maps.

Same problem...it's from another expansion pack.
But damn...that would be awesome. I think I can add them to high city in Eucadia, which could be similarly batshit crazy.

All of my guys from work plan to be in the game tonight...and I need to check on eroc.
With R2 and Nic back in the mix, it should be a pretty good showing.

Not going to be able to join tonight. GF's family is in town. I mentioned the possibility of playing tonight to my gf and she gave me that look. So... next week!

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night
I had a lot of fun tonight, since adding the DLC I will admit that my fun has at least doubled.
Now that I have said that, I need to rant a little bit. During the first two rounds of capture the flag, my team got behind by 3 flags. Both times the opposing team did not let up and kept playing defense and offense aggressively. I understand if you guys want to keep playing competitive through out the entire match, that is fine, I can live with that. However, I think there is a little bit of hypocrisy in this game. There were a few people, one in particular, but a few that I noticed who would play very competitively even when they were ahead by multiple flags, but then get snippy, snappy and sometimes rude with both members on their own team and members on the opposing team. It makes me as a player feel very uncomfortable.
I don't want to make it sound like the entire (or even most) of the game tonight was tainted by this, I actually hated leaving to go watch LOST, which is a first. And fuck those big spaceship things.
Chess, you did a good job balancing the teams tonight. I know sometimes it may not have seemed like it, but considering what you had to work with, I don't think anyone could say they would have done better.
