Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Proud of you for at least thinking about it. I cringe every time a release a TOW...maybe not as much as Chew does, but I legitimately feel bad and always ask "do I need to do this".

"manhunter's" username is mnhunter...as in Marcus N. Hunter. Stick with manhunter because it's kind of funny...but you'll hear me call him Marcus generally. K-Town's last name is Kotulan, so you might hear me call him that. He was the one who seemed more discouraged this morning...said it was pretty chaotic.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I thought K-Town did pretty good. He stayed near the base, but I actually thought he had experience because he had to of killed me two or three times in a row on the Grinder map. So, we can start playing fair game with Sean, right? He's already better than me in a Warhawk. I try to only TOW/Ball the regulars (and Brian).

K-T got me a couple of times. Enough anyway that when I saw him hanging around the base on a flag grab I felt the need to take him out.

I feel like he's better than I was when I first started.

K-Town did get a couple of kills in on Grinder, but he doesn't conceptually "get" the whole CTF thing, can't use any vehicles and is lost in general. I'm hoping to get KTown, Marcus and Sean in a private game to give them some training...sort of like I did early on with Chew and Z.

Sean's son is pretty decent, and Sean will hand him the controller for short periods. If Sean was better than you in a Warhawk, I guarantee it was his son Kevin. Sean is getting better though.

Hopefully Brian IS a regular now...if I didn't chase him off. I still have trouble not equating his skill level to R2 and nic, who are fully fair game. I forget that he only has a few weeks under his belt.

You were atrotious when you first started, and it's hard to be sure given that he's playing with more seasoned players than you were, but I think he's more lost...much more lost.

BTW, you should be able to load the expansion maps without using the vehicles...so, you should be able to load an Omega factory map and use jet packs instead, or no expansion vehicles.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I hoped on too late last night so I missed most of the action, but it was pretty fun while I was on. The new guys seemed better then they seem to think they are.

I loved the Jetpacks, but didn't notice any other new vehicles last night.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

You didn't notice the giant aircraft with manned missile launchers on top and giant cannons sticking out the sides that is damn near impossible to bring down if manned correctly????

Nope.

Oh, I did see Steve driving some kind of weird tank looking thing, but I don't think it had a cannon on it.

Nope.

I'm going to play on the public servers tonight and try to experience some of the new stuff. I especially want to roam the maps in their entirety just so that I can see everything.

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

Both are troop transports. The Dropship is a motherfucker. The APC is relatively benign, as long as nobody figures out that you can pop SIX DUDES WITH ROCKET LAUNCHERS out the top and can generate a shield that makes you invulnerable to everything but lightning and instantly 'splodes Warhawks.

You must've been out during the game with the dropship, as it would be damn hard to miss.

Jetpacks are freaking awesome...period.

You have options for the vehicles on the original maps, but I'm pretty sure they are locked into their respective expansion maps...i.e. every Tau Crater map has jetpacks, every Omega Factory map has dropships and every Vaporfield Glacier map has APCs.

Map size notwithstanding, of course.

I hope you're right though!

You know I don't try to think of annoying things to do in our games.

On a completely unrelated matter, is it possible to carry one of those Jar-Jar shield making vehicles with a Dropship, thereby creating a force field around said Dropship?

Re: Weekly Tuesday Warhawk night

I don't think they mix/match the expansion vehicles, so you never have access to both at the same time.

But that is JUST the type of shit YOU would think of! (and I don't mean the royal "you", I mean specifically you)

@ Wiz,

It occurs to me that if you want that 2033 game, you could just gift me $40 in Amazon credit and I could gift you the game...or at least I think that would work...haven't read the fine print on the $10 promo credit.

I appreciate it, but no worries. I should probably turn my attention to the stack of unopened games first.

Nice.

Warhawk tomorrow biznatches!

I feel some huge maps coming on...maybe the even the full size Eucadia and Badlands. That's a 1-0 game waiting to happen!

Also, jetpacks ahoy, mofuggaz!

Any other requests?

we should try the glacier map (village) as a deathmatch.

That's just what I was thinking, Grinder isn't chaotic enough.
