I got to Family Video at 9:58 and walked in right at 10:00. Before I left, 4 out of the 7 copies were gone, so good luck fro.

Re: Batman - Arkham Asylum

I really got hooked into playing this after I picked it up last night. For those that have advanced along a little bit...

Spoiler:
That set up leading into the fray with Scarecrow is unbelievably intense and surreal.

This game is sick - just incredible.

Fuck. I haven't finished Shadow Complex and I'm going to pick up this game in a few minutes.
I hope I'm strong enough so I can dedicate just one hour to each game tonight.

My copy will be here around 3, which is the normal UPS delivery time. My Step-dad and I are swinging by TRU to pick up a copy for him.

They open in a few minutes so hopefully there's not some killer line or they don't have enough copies. Or my favorite, "The truck hasn't arrived yet."

Re: Batman - Arkham Asylum

Just picked up my copy at TRU with the free $30 gift card, and they only had about three copies left there. Two guys were in line in front of me with the game as well, so obviously this sale is getting out there.

During the load time I read that we can install more of the game on the HDD, so it will play smoother. Going into settings I don't see an option... anyone know how??

They didn't have to use the special ones.....they could have used the blue regular "merchandise credit" cards, as that's what they gave me at my local store this morning (I didn't really care if I got the special Batman logo one, as I'm just going to use it on GH5 or Beatles RB in the next week or two anyway)....

Good grief, that store must really suck if they can't even find any cards for an ADVERTISED PROMOTION....management fail if you ask me....

same thing here. They charged me $29.99 for batman and $30.00 on a merchandise credit card. I'm not sure if it has any expiration date though.

Go to My Xbox/Game Library/Recent Games and select Batman. Should be a place right there to "Install to Hard Drive." Way worth it for games you play often.

You might have gotten the better deal then.

The gift card that comes with the game has the batman game logo on it and has an expiration date that you have to use the card by. The generic ones I don't think have the same expiration date. But you may want to double check so that you don't lose out on that money.

I'll probably use it before then anyways, but does it say that anywhere? I even called the 1-800 number and it just told me I have 30 dollars credit. I believe you, but it would be pretty shady of them not to put that expiration anywhere for people who aren't in the know.

If you go to http://www.toysrus.com and view the weekly ad, the deal is on the last page. Click on the offer for more details and it's there. I can't copy/paste from their flash and am too lazy to take a screenshot and host it.

I'm just the B2G1F deal is in October so I can use it then.

Re: Batman - Arkham Asylum

One time TRU gave me a gift card that expired 7 days later without informing me, even though it was supposed to expire in two months (from last xmas's RB2 deal). I talked to everyone in the chain of command, all the way up to corporate, showed them my receipt, the original ad, everything, and they told me tough shit.

Haven't shopped at TRU ever since.

Picked up the game last night from GS but also have an inexpensive copy of the CE coming from Amazon. Can't decide which to keep.

The special Batman giftcard states right on the front of the card

"Promotional Offer: Gift Card expires 10/31/09. Card is valid beginning 6 hours after activation"

Yea but they just gave me a merchandise credit card. I will use it before 10/31 but I just thought it was interesting my store didn't have the actual cards either. The guy behind the counter didn't even bother to ask what game I wanted either, so they knew there would be strong demand for this. Oh well great deal nonetheless!

If they give you a regular card, without the expiration date, it shouldn't expire.

Re: Batman - Arkham Asylum

The difference in the camera, the 360 version is zoomed in more and looks like it could be a problem in closed in sequences at least, is enough to sway a lot of people towards the PS3 release:

Why did they do this to the 360 version, seems like a crummy move.

Now that it's after 2:00pm on the East coast, has anyone had any luck taking the Toys R Us ad to Best Buy and getting them to issue a $20 giftcard with purchase?
