The difference in the camera, the 360 version is zoomed in more and looks like it could be a problem in closed in sequences at least, is enough to sway a lot of people towards the PS3 release:

I've been playing this all weekend and I can tell you that when Batman is moving, the camera pans out a little and when he's not moving, the camera zooms in a little. Looking at his cape in that shot, you can tell that he's moving in the PS3 version (panned out) and standing still in the 360 shot (zoomed in).
Whoever came up with this is some asshole trying to create an issue where there is none.

At every store I've worked at, we matched prices, not 'offers'.

People on GAF who have the 360 version are saying pretty much the exact same thing:
I guess there's no way to tell for sure unless you play both games for an extended period of time, but that's what people are saying.
Anyway, amazing game so far. I'm only up to the
and I'm already so into this.
I have the 360 version. It indeed does have the close camera. Gonna have to ask someone with the PS3 version about that side.

I thought the camera zoomed out when you were running.
It looks to me like the PS3 version is him running, camera pulled back, and stuff in the distance looks further away.
The 360 version he's walking and the camera is closer and the stuff in the distance appears closer too.
I don't know what that technique is called that increases the depth of perception when the camera does that.

No. I'm gonna go ahead and call shenanigans on this.

Of course, it's just about the exact same game, and no matter which one people picks to play they'll be pleased with it. Some people just care about the tiny things more than others. For me the absolute only reason I picked PS3 over 360 is the Joker exclusives, that's it.
And now I've encountered the first real
of the game.

Re: Batman - Arkham Asylum
I had no problem price matching the TRU $30 gift card deal at Best Buy over lunch. Rang it up weird though. Charged me $39.99 for the game, $10 for a gift card and another $10 gift card for free. So paid $50 + tax for the game and $20 worth of best buy gift cards.
Make sure if you try to PM best buy, every store will ring it up differently. If you pay:
$60 for game get $30 gift cards
$50 for game get $20 gift cards
$40 for game get $10 gift cards
$30 for game get $0 gift cards
As stupid as it sounds, I must have sat there in the store for 5 minutes after checking out making sure I got what I was supposed to (the game for net $30). Turned right around and used the gift cards on seasons 7 (19.99) and 8 (25.99) of scrubs (which had another $10 off if you bought both).
Out the door $66+tax for batman on PS3 and two season sets of Scrubs...not too shabby.

I am about an hour in, and I have to say I am a bit underwhelmed to say the least. The exploring aspect sort of gives me a headache. The way the camera pans over the right shoulder makes it sort of 'wiggly" when you are looking around for stuff. It picked up a bit when I started fighting armed guards, but the pacing in the demo was better.

also, being a dark game, and the way the detective mode works, you almost need to keep the detective mode on at all times, and I sort of hate the blue haze in detective mode. I cranked up the brightness to see if that would work, but it just washes the game out to much.

You can't get it until later in the game when you acquire a new gadget.
You'll pass a number of items along the way that you can't get at the time and will have to go back for.

Did anyone else get the Collector's Edition with the Batarang? I was able to match Toys R Us at Best Buy and get 10 dollars off and a 10 dollar gift card rather than the 10 dollar gift card and the animated Batman movies that they were offering.

This just came in my e-mail box.

Was there anything before suggesting a time limit on downloading challenge maps?
BTW, Batman cave in Home - not that great.

I wonder if this is in regards to that, or if this is simply for the Joker?
It does seem a bit strange, though.

This is fun, in a boring way. I mean, the fighting is kinda lame, but accurate for Batman's badassness, I suppose. And he's just so slow when he walks. Yeah, I can run, but I'm afraid I'm going to miss something. Having Detective Mode on all the time gets a little... blue.
That said, the story and atmosphere so far are nothing short of amazing. It's obvious these people knew what they were doing with the franchise.
