Just a coincidence. The original Fallout games were inspired by an old PC RPG called Wasteland. Bioshock was inspired by System Shock.

My brother preordered the collector's edition through Gamestop. He goes there Tuesday to pick it up and they say the CE's didn't come in with the regular shipment and they will let him know when it comes in. Then he goes back today and they say they probably sold his copy and they are expecting more Friday. I would ask how such crap companies stay in business, but then again my brother said he'll just wait until Friday.

I was planning to wait to get this game but when I saw the lunchbox at Best Buy today I had no choice but to submit...

On a Macbook? Good luck! I think the new 2008 MacBooks could probably run it at lower settings. I'd imagine my 2007 gen MacBook Pro would probably run it just fine, but I don't have Windows on it. I don't have a 360, so PS3 it is. Hopefully will get it tomorrow, or at least before my weekend. I plan on playing a hot asian female, with some lesbian tendencies, and skills in sneaking and lockpicking and small arms.

Yeah, Raiders keep killing me at the Super-Mart. There's just so many of them in there.

To everyone saying the game is too hard.. Are you using VATS? I haven't had any major problems and I have most of my stats in medicine and science.

I spent three hours yesterday just going around and hunting mutants. Good times. Clearing out the Super-Mart was a lot of fun too.

I am using VATS, I just keep getting shot and don't have enough medical supplies to heal.

Are you wearing armor? Wear the 101 Armored jumpsuit & helmet & use the 10mm. I've been pumping up my speech and have no problems at all with any of the combats so far: roaches, 101, Burke, Super-Mart.

Crouch, use VATS on the head, lure them to come around a corner (closer range helps zero out the impact of rifles) and try to take them on 1 at a time from corners and s on.

VATS made them all go down fast.

A nice head shot or two will leave the raiders dusted. I cleared out the supermarket as well and have to save a few times but I think I ended up killing 10 raiders or so in the process. After I had them on the run I would chase them around with a tire iron and work them over until they bit the dust.

I got my Amazon Survival Edition yesterday but I haven't played the game yet. I received LBP too and that's what I played.

But I love my Pipboy clock, even if I can't set the time The lunchbox is really cool I have to hide it from my daughters. Actually I'm kinda scare I won't like the game after reading some of your comments here..

I stayed home from work yesterday to pay this, so far i'd say i have about 20-22 hours in the game. My character is at level 7, and I absolutely just destroy the super mutants. Shot Gun + small guns 75 + VATS to the face = Death.

One thing I notice is that there seems to be a shortage on armor, the only armor I am seeing is the Armor for the raiders. I'm still wearing my vault security armor that gives me +5 small guns. I did find a cool hockey mask thouhg, so I can pretend to be Jason Vorheese!

So do you guys recommend I get the strategy guide for this?

If so, should I spend $5 more and get the collector's edition guide?

How much replayability do you think this game has once you finish it? I heard it does "end" unlike Oblivion where you can still wander around after the main quest is finished. Do you see yourselves wanting to play it again to try something different for the next go around?

Thanks

Is medicine any good? Trying to decide on what third skill I want for my sweet new character.

Looks like the only thing that's different is that it's hard cover and it has a few pages on behind the scenes stuff.

I think it should have a lot, since there's so many ways you can play the game and accomplish tasks.

slop, I don't know if you saw my previous post, but the regular edition is ringing up for $9.99 at Circuit City this week even without any coupons. That's the best deal around, considering how huge and detailed that guide is.

This game is amazing so far. I love setting land mines and luring raiders into them.

I have yet to have time to play this...but it looks (feels) similar to I Am Legend from the reviews I've read. Do you get a dog?

Yes, although having a pet dog has been a key aspect of all the games.
