I distinctly remember that a single well-placed spin-jump could take out the last boss in Ninja Gaiden.

I'm pretty much counting the Wii as my only console now due to my problems with the PS2. So I'm not going to buy these games on other platforms (except Gamecube) anyway.
that is good news. I'll pick that one up if I have to, but hopefully this means a 360 version is right around the corner.

Ninja Spirit was awesome. I used to play it on my Turbo Express all the time. The cool part of the game was the power ups and one of the coolest was the power up that gave you 2 Doppler Ninjas who'd follow your every move. I never got past a certain point so I never finished teh game but that didn't stop me from playing it.

From IGN:
"The Wii home video game system is a hugely innovative games console and we wanted to make a special version of Anniversary to appeal to Wii owners," said Kathryn Clements, senior brand manager for Tomb Raider at Eidos. "The Wii Remote and nunchuck controllers allow Wii gamers to control Lara in brand new, unique ways, and there are plenty of new features, to be revealed soon, which will ensure Anniversary really hits the spot -- literally."

IGN gave Mario Strikers Charge a preview and seemed to be impressed, even with the online (despite the friend codes).

Now THAT's one I'm pretty stoked about. I loved Strikers for the GC (total mind-blanking, fun multiplayer gameplay) and look forward to more of the same on the Wii.

Another good "review" --

"On the whole both Mario Strikers and the Wii as an online gaming platform impressed, offering accessibility and the potential for hilarious fun. Finally, an entire generation of consoles is online, and quickly the past is feeling like a very different world indeed."

I finally found a Wii through Craiglist, I'll be picking it up on Saturday. Two months of searching and I could never find a non-bundled one online or in a local store.

And to think...it's damn near June.

It might be another rough Christmas for Wii shoppers.

I'm pretty sure people had pictures of the mockup in the previous thread, it's basically a shell that you would put the remote into that looks like a gun.

Anyone in the Nashville area looking for a Wii, Gamestop in Cool Springs has them. Picked one up with the Sports game. Man after 4 hours I am whopped.

Looks like the latest NP is spilling the beans on a Paper Mario (N64) release. I know I've read here and over in the SPM thread about folks not ever getting a chance to play this one. If it is in NP, I'd say that's a sure sign we'll have it within a month.

Good news. I missed that game and would probably by that one. Maybe when I get through my comp exam at the end of June I'll do SPM and this back to back if its out by then.

That game is well worth the $10. I still have the cart, but might be tempted to buy it again.

VC Update for 5/21:
Donkey Kong Country 2™: Diddy's Kong Quest™ (SNES®, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points): In the sequel to the immensely popular Donkey Kong Country™, Diddy Kong® gets the spotlight, along with his girlfriend, Dixie Kong™ - a great little monkey with a dangerous ponytail. The action starts on the wreck of King K. Rool's Gangplank Galleon that has apparently broken up on a reef offshore from the Kremlings' Island. Diddy and his friends will have to work together to rescue Donkey Kong®, exploring all the hidden areas of the Kremlings' island: a spooky haunted forest, treacherous swamps, a giant beehive oozing with sticky honey and lava-filled caves, just to name a few.

Streets of Rage™ 2 (Sega Genesis, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points): To celebrate their defeat of the Syndicate exactly one year before, Blaze, Adam and Axel met for drinks. The next morning, Axel received a frantic phone call from Eddie "Skate" Hunter, Adam's younger brother, whom he was living with on the edge of the city. Blaze and Axel found Adam and Skate's house wrecked, and a picture showing Adam chained up at the feet of Mr. X. The city then once again returned to its nightmarish state as criminals ran rampant. Unable to contact their old friend in artillery, Axel and Blaze team up with Skate and Max Thunder to free the city and rescue Adam from the Syndicate. It is up to you to take down Mr. X once and for all.

Blazing Lazers (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, 600 Wii Points): Blazing Lazers is a vertical-scrolling shooter that was praised for surpassing the limitations of the hardware of its time. Players control the extraordinary firepower of their Gunhed Star Fighter to take on the Dark Squadron that has begun its invasion of Earth. Collect power-ups to increase your ship's battle strength so it can cut through enemies and defeat the bosses in all nine areas. Of course, as part of the "Soldier" series, the game contains a good combination of fast-paced speed with catchy, drum-propelled background music, coupled with the Field Thunder that can be used to destroy enemies in one fell swoop for the ultimate sense of satisfaction. With its fine-tuned difficulty levels, Blazing Lazers is a shooting game that anyone can enjoy.
No surprise Paper Mario yet.

That's great news!

I just hope it turns out well. I loved the first MP, but hated the second. So I'll have to wait for some reviews/impressions on this one, especially to see how the controls pan out.

Those first three titles look to really take my time away this fall. I never played the first Battalion Wars, but the sequel looks fun and is online. Is BW for the cube worth $10 new at EB/GS?

yea, that's how much I picked up BW for ($10)

the controls are simple, and the way you get to control everyone on the field is very refreshing, in that, you really can control everyone on the field. It combines 3rd person shooter elements with RTS elements.
