Depends on the company. Our fiscal year starts on April 1st. I just had my year end review yesterday.

From what I've encountered that's pretty late for the new year to start. Either way, I'd be surprised if they didn't have titles out for the holidays. There will be plenty of PS3's sold by then to justify it.

FYI, free demo of MLB 2k7 is now available, downloaded it last night (big download, almost 900mb) and it seems to be just 3 innings of a cardinals/mets game. only played it once so far and the game looks pretty sweet, turned on the sixaxis method of hitting after the first batter or two though, just didn't seem to be a natural way of doing it. probably won't buy the came, but i've never bought any other baseball game either...
not bad for a free download though.
also, the Home trailer available is the same thing available on their website, so don't bother the 300mb+ download if you've seen it already.

Free PS3 "Magazine." It's PDF only.
They're actually pretty decent. I've looked through the two handheld issues they have. I just wish they made it easier to print the whole magazine at once.

Yeah, i DL'd MLB 2K7 too, haven't play the demo yet though...
Oh, anyone saw the trailer for HOME? Man, the mini games look awesome! It's a way sophisticated version of Mii i guess. I'll pick this one up for sure, #1, i like to create characters of my family (like the Miis), but this time, more realistic (more choices), #2 the graphic is good (i guess all HD games look good), #3 mini games...
Super Rub Dub looks good too, but i'm not sure about the gameplay, looked simple enough though. Only if they offer a free demo, darn!
Warhawk, i'm gonna pass....

I definitely agree that HOME looks fun and promising. Just hope that they keep going ahead as planned and aren't overpromising. Then again, can't really complain if they don't deliver since it doesn't cost anything...
Will wait and see... the mini games do look fun.

I played teh MLB 2K7 demo, the graphic blows me away... i didn't read any reviews or previews so the SSX part of the game was new to me. Anybody find that interesting or out of the norm, i.e. it shouldn't be there?

PlayStation 3 sales plunge 82% in UK
from Joystiq
After obliterating records upon its launch in the UK last week, PlayStation 3 sales have come down to Earth with all the grace of a skydiving walrus using an anvil for a parachute. Citing the latest Chart Track data, a GamesIndustry.biz report discloses that sales for Sony's system have dropped by 82% in the last week. Having sold an estimated 165,000 units before, the percentage represents a drop of 135,300 units, resulting in total sales of 29,700 systems for the week.
Previously, it was stated that the initial PS3 shipment for the UK numbered 220,000. With 55,000 units remaining after the first week and without considering any subsequent stock, it means that the PS3 sold an estimated 54% of its remaining stock. Compared to the 75% of stock sold in its initial week, it still makes for a notable 21% drop. Though the days are early yet and the PS3's overall performance in the country (and the rest of Europe) has yet to be assessed, things look to have slowed down quickly and considerably.

whoops:
Wii doubles PS3 sales in Japan
April 3rd, 2007
More good sales news for Nintendo. The Wii seems is outselling the PS3 2 to 1 in Japan. Nintendo has managed to sell through 1.95 million Wii units, while Sony has sold 812,000 units of the PS3. This news comes hot on the heels of an 82% sales drop of the PS3 in the UK.

All of that is to be expected with such a high ticket price and very few games to buy. Well, I am a bit shocked the Wii continues to sell so well worldwide. Maybe they actually have games worth buying for it in Japan.

Apparently people don't realize that people are buying the Wii for Wii Sports. Once again: WE ARE NOT REPRESENTATIVE OF THE GENERAL POPULATION. Some of these people may never buy another game and be happy with their purchase. Hell, I would have been happy owning a PS2 just for Guitar Hero, and I know people that have bought the system for that game alone.
