Is the PlayStation Network ID (or whatever its called) tied to your console, or is it transferable, like an Xbox gamertag? My brother isn't really interested in using his PS3 online, but I wanted to create an account so we could download demos and stuff. I'm just wondering if I'd be able to transfer the account to another PS3, if for some reason I decided to get one of my own in the future.

I believe the network ID is transferrable. Just sign up on Playstation Underground and you should be set. You'd still have to go through all the sign up crap on a new console if I'm not mistaken.

Is there any way to get the PS3 to upconvert DVDs through HDMI? I can't get it to output anything but 480p. Also, when I start up a DVD I get a message about an incompatible audio format or something like that. When the movie starts the audio seems to be fine though. My receiver picks up a 5.1 signal (through optical). Anyone know what it mean? Thanks.

Firmware 1.50 is out. I haven't looked up what it does yet though.
Well, apparently they fixed a lot of the graphical issues with PS1/PS2 games that people were complaining about. They are apparently looking much better, especially Final Fantasy 12.

Where are you guys reading that 1.5 helps with PS2 games? The article in Engadget didn't mention anything about it but it was based off the 1.5 update for consoles in Japan.

Well the official from sony doesn't mention a patch for the PS2 issues but I swear the graphics look MUCH better than before. Maybe it's wishful thinking and my brain is seeing what it wants to see...
