The new DA is growing on me. Pretty good episode.

I really liked tonight's episode, thought Sisto was great. And the DA is improving. Surprising to see Jack so involved though.

This ep was good. Still too much with the Blackberry stuff.

When Cutter made the comment about Jack and compared him to Branch, I thought Jack was going to hit him.

The strangest thing for me was turning the TV on a little early and seeing Luis from Sesame Street on L&O:CI.

I never thought they'd use that news item as a ripped-from-the-headlines.

For those fond of "personal" storylines in their Law & Order (ala SVU):

Spoiler:
Question: How awesome is Law & Order this season? — Clay

Ausiello: So awesome that I haven't missed an episode this season. Granted, only three have aired, but still, I haven't watched three consecutive Law & Orders since the Angie Harmon years. Tonight's episode concerns a murder that may or may not be connected to a pair of stolen pants. Speaking of missing trousers, the inevitable love triangle involving Green (Jesse L. Martin), Lupo (Jeremy Sisto) and Lupo's sister-in-law begins to take shape.

Boooo. No personal stuff is exactly why I like L&O.

If that spoiler is accurate, I'm going to be dumping L&O soon. I haven't been impressed all that much to begin with so far this season - only the 2nd episode was decent.

Quite a trick, twisting from one "ripped from the headlines" to a totally different "ripped from the headlines".

I like how they did it though. It was just a few lines here and there that were really just filler while they were waiting for something else to happen.

I can live with a little personal story every once in a while to help define a character and their actions/motives, but not too much.

I really think that Cutter is coming into his own. I loved the smile on Jack's face as the end. He sees himself in his new ADA.

I do have to say that I lol'ed at Lupo "wire tapping" the suspects phone... and more so that it worked.

Yeah the personal stuff was very subtle. Plus it'll add just a bit of tension between Lupo and Greene. The only thing I thought was a bit forced was having Van Buren in the courtroom to force the truth out of her old boss while on the stand.

I liked the episode, and white guy/black guy lines.

Question on the disclaimer before these ripped from the headlines episodes: how can they claim that any similarities to persons living or dead is coincidence? I know that some shows like this week's feature situations rather than people, but what about episodes used such as Anna Nicole, Britney, etc?

I didn't think it was subtle at all. If you want subtle, look at the Jack/Claire affair in S5/6 - now that's subtle, and was perfectly written.

I thought this was a decent episode. I do like how they have McCoy taking a more hands-on approach.

This is probably the first episode I've watched since Jerry Orbach died. To my surprise, it hasn't lost anything at all.

The twist at the end with the jury
Spoiler:
recommending that both defendants get the same sentence despite differing charges
was interesting.

Is it just me or are all Law & Order shows really grainy in HD (especially dark scenes)?

As I said in the SVU thread...this one is grainy. SVU isn't. CI is somewhere in between.

Decent episode but the jury statement at the end was ridiculous.

Another episode I enjoyed a great deal. Way to turn it around, L&O.

NBC, 'Law & Order' Producer Go to Court

LOS ANGELES (AP) — NBC Universal has taken Dick Wolf, the executive producer of its "Law & Order" series of dramas, to court in a dispute over how much he is being paid.

The lawsuit, filed late last week in Los Angeles Superior Court, asks the court to clarify a contract signed by the network and its top producer of scripted shows. Besides the original "Law & Order" series, Wolf has made "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" for NBC.

Wolf has argued that the contract essentially guarantees him a kill fee, or money for producing 48 extra episodes of "Law & Order" even after NBC has determined it doesn't want the show anymore. NBC says in the court papers that it has made no such promise.

"NBC Universal is trying to rewrite an existing contract," Pam Ruben Golum, a spokeswoman for Wolf, said Monday.
