The ADAs just kept getting hotter. I wonder who will be next?
Angie Harmon latest to leave 'Law & Order'
April 10, 2001

HOLLYWOOD, California (Reuters) -- Another year, another cast departure on "Law & Order." This time Angie Harmon is leaving the NBC drama, ending a three-year run with the series, Variety reports.
Harmon, who plays assistant district attorney Abbie Carmichael, will stay with the Studios USA-produced series through at least the end of this season.
And she may pop up in the first six episodes of "Law & Order" next season. The reason: Producers have agreed to shoot extra segments of the series before a possible strike by the Screen Actors Guild this summer.
If executive producer Dick Wolf cannot find a replacement for Harmon by the time production on the extra episodes begins at the end of April, the actress will stay on.
While Harmon had some time remaining on her "Law & Order" deal, Wolf agreed to let her out early. Production insiders said Harmon wants to focus on building a feature career.
"She asked to be released early from her contractual commitment to the show," Wolf said. "As I've said numerous times in the past, if an actor wants to leave the series for personal reasons, and gives ample notice so that it doesn't affect production, I have never stood in anyone's way."
"L&O" has managed to survive -- even thrive -- despite numerous cast departures over its 12-year history. The most recent exit was that of longtime regular Steven Hill.
Harmon joined "L&O" during the 1998-99 season, filling the void left by the departure of Carey Lowell. Harmon previously starred in the short-lived ABC series "C-16" and "Baywatch Nights."
On the feature side, Harmon appears opposite Charlie Sheen in the upcoming comedy "Good Advice."

I liked all of the female ADAs. They all brought something different. Carey Lowell (Jamie) was probably my favorite. She was not only very attractive but she tended to butt heads with McCoy, and that actually made them a stronger team. I would love to see her come back, but I doubt it would happen.
I liked Abby's no-nonsense Texas "let's-fry-em" attitude. McCoy has always been to the right of the ADAs and having her to the right of Jack made things very interesting. Of course she was a major babe as well.
As long as Lenny and Jack are there, I'll be happy. However, I really miss Steven Hill as Adam Schiff.

I agree too. Richard Brooks was the last male Assistant DA, and that was a many years ago. However, I do think that all 3 of the female Assistant DA's did a great job on the show.

You can label me a sexist, but I hope to God they bring another female ADA onto the show. I think they could bring back Jamie Ross if they wanted to. The only reason she left was that she wanted to spend more time with her kid while her husband was fighting for custody. Maybe they can just say her husband lost or something..... I'm not sure who else could play the part, the only actresses I can think of are already on TV.

I never cared for Harmon though. Too tall, too thin, too much "Texas" in the accent.

As for Angie Harmon, she's alright, but I won't miss her as much as Steven Hill. I actually don't watch the show regularly anymore (A&E rocks though), although I hope it never goes off the air.

I have a feeling that the next ADA will be a female and of minority decent.

I have managed to see a lot of the episodes of Law and Order out there, but for some reason, never saw the one after that one which ends with everyone getting wasted (except her) and Brisco and Kincaid getting wrecked in that little car. What happens in the next episode? Is there more to the storyline?

Dream on. More tough babes to come, no doubt. Thank God they have to keep them intelligent, though. That is one thing that makes them stand out.

Anyway, Claire was to meet up with McCoy at the bar, but he took off early. Brisco is still there when she shows up, and is feeling no pain. She gives him a ride home in her Ford Escort and gets T-boned (on the driver's side) by a white Bronco.

How could you forget that? He cheats on his wife with the grad student!
The law school professor Claire visits was also her father.

By the way, did you know that Jill Hennessey has an identical twin who is a lawyer in Toronto?

I knew that she had a twin sister (Jacqueline). They actually both appear in the movie Dead Ringers (playing prostitutes). I did not know that she was a lawyer. That's kind of ironic.

Just a bit of trivia for those who don't know..... Steven Hill wasn't the only District Attorney on the show. I remember watching the pilot a couple of months ago on A&E and there was someone else in the District Attorney's role.

Elisabeth Rohm....... atleast that's what TV Guide is reporting.
'Actress Elisabeth Rohm — one of the stars of TNT's Bull and a frequent guest on the WB's Angel — is reportedly the frontrunner to replace Angie Harmon on NBC's Law & Order next season. An official confirmation is expected soon.'

I'd never even seen her before, but check her out, she's hot! http://www.elisabethrohmonline.com/
