Robinette already returned as a defense attorney in a season 6 episode called Custody.

The best seasons were the first four with Michael Moriarty as the district attorney. Sam Waterston is alright but has nothing on him.

Yep. That was a great episode.
I'm hoping for the Rohmbot to make a re-appearance as a defense attorney so her client can murder her.

Good episode. Amazingly they have never touched this issue before, and they handled it pretty well. I'm going to have to check out the Oliver Wendell Holmes opinion that was referred to. It was good seeing Paul again although I was a bit baffled on why he would take such a case - at least until the epilouge.
As for the best seasons of L&O, clearly 4 through 9, with 7 and 8 leading the pack.

Hasn't Paul and Briscoe* the only ones to change tables? Or is there another I am forgetting? Custody was a great episode, I really hated Paul in that episode, brilliant calling Stone to testify.

Jamie Ross - in 2 episodes. Plus she went on to become a judge (in TBJ). I'm hoping she is a judge in a L&O episode down the road.

Buck v. Bell
Amazing that there was no 4th nor 8th amendment challenges to the procedure.

I forgot she about Jamie, and I did not know she became a judge, very cool.

law and order seson 14, i have a Q about the episode where the crooks kill witnesses
SPOILERS i guess.
The 2 guys killing witnesses get found not guilty. I assumed that the jury was intimidated and thought they might get killed if they found them guilty? Normally no one ever gets found not guilty(or they get found not guilty 30 minutes into the show, and then the cops go back and find evidence of another crime and then the crooks get found guilty). That is just why I like the show, is because the crooks almost ALWAYS get caught.
This episode really pissed me off because the crooks go off after killing so many innocent people. thoughts? was the jury intimidated/scared?

This was a strong L&O episode. Always nice to see Richard Brooks reprise his Paul Robinnette role. It was great for them to focus precedent on a major SCt 4th amendment case: Kyllo and Justice Scalia's remarkable (surprising) opinion.
Maybe the move to Fridays motivated the writers this year. All the episodes have been above average, which considering the monotony of recent seasons is refreshing.

I was excited to see that Richard Brooks was returning again and he didn't disappoint. The ending made me sad but I guess that's unfortunately the world we live in.

I almost
ed at Jack calling the defense attorney a "putz"... but I didn't want to come of a racist.

they even had the sugar tits, anti-jew comments, and the melodramatic i'm sorry interview.
I did think the kid should have gotten more time since it was apparent he was old enough to know what he did.
also found it kind of silly that chase's character would, after dumping the body, go to a bar, get drunk, and obviously get pulled over for driving drunk. alibi plan really backfired.

Yeah, they've changed the format of the show in order to accommodate more screen time for him. I'm interested in seeing how this works out. The new cast members look to be a great addition.
