Re: Ballard (Amazon) -- S: Maggie Q -- Based on the books of Michael Connelly

Finished S1. Still give it a "Meh". I enjoyed the cop/investigation/mystery scenes. But in my opinion, the pacing was too slow, and spent too much time on the personal drama side. It got to the...

Re: The Terminal List: Dark Wolf (Prime) -- prequel series

I finished watching it yesterday. I enjoyed it for the most part because I was enoying the action and twists. But had to try to turn off my brain for some of it Things I didn't like:

Re: Ballard (Amazon) -- S: Maggie Q -- Based on the books of Michael Connelly

I've seen the first episode and give it a strong "Meh". Since everyone else here says it is good, I'll give it a few more episodes and see if it grows on me.

Re: Last DVD you watched?

I just watched Flashdance. I grew up in the 80's and it was on a mental checklist of 80's flicks I never saw.

Re: The Amazon Prime Streaming Thread

I usually watch Prime while on my treadmill. I also have a computer next to the treadmill. Watching regular TV on the treadmill, when there are commercials, I can step off the treadmill and read...

Re: The complaining about Amazon thread

Speaking of Amazon and the USPS. Yesterday, the USPS delivered an Amazon package to our house. They had a package for our neighbor, too. Our neighbors live on a flag lot; their front yard is behind...

Re: Amazon: Blu-ray discounts and deals mega-thread

I don't know if this is a sale or a price drop, but I just noticed the price of Black Adam at Amazon dropped to $12.99 for the Blu-ray, and $17.99 for 4K.

Re: The complaining about Amazon thread

I saw her; it was a child, not a small adult. The parent probably agreed to make a few deliveries on the way home from work with their personal vehicle. Then he/she picked up their child from...

Re: The complaining about Amazon thread

This was a first for me. I've had Amazon delivery drivers drop off packages using their personal vehicles. But this time, the driver had their *child*, about 10 years old, wearing an Amazon vest,...

Re: The complaining about Amazon thread

I can't say that I have seen that. But I also live in a high population area, the D.C. / Baltimore corridor. And AIUI, at there's least one big fullfillment center close to me.

Re: Trivial things in a movie that bug you anyway

Sword-related sound effects. The noise every time a sword is sheathed or unsheathed in a movie, and the ring(?) sound effect they put in when someone swings a sword.

Re: Your First Naked Celebrity

Roxanne Brewer in Hooper. There's a scene where she's topless and pops out of a cake. I would have been about 9 years old at the time.

re: Fry's Electronics was dying, and now it’s DEAD

I went to the Manhattan Beach location once out of curiosity. I just did a google maps street view of that location, which was updated around September, 2022. It was still vacant and you can see the...

Re: Sexual Harassment/Assault & Abuse in Hollywood -- Discussion

I saw it in college, around '90, when I took a class on Shakespeare. As part of the course, the campus theater showed a different Shakespeare-based movie each week and we were encouraged to see them.

Re: The complaining about Amazon thread

Technically this is isn't really a complaint, but this seems like the best place to put this. My deodarant is getting low, and I'm too lazy to stop by the Target that's 1/2 mile away. So I figured...
