Just got my copy in the mail today. The deleted scenes are interesting, as they really changed the first act of the film. I can see why they cut it, but it would have made the plot more believable....

OK, let me try and clear up a few things.

First: you can't lose your data on Destiny or D2 unless you delete your characters. All items, progress and stats are saved on Bungie's end, not locally....

Almost correct. Forsaken, Shadowkeep, and either the season pass or individual seasons for the current year. You missed Undying, so there's the current season plus 2 more to come.

I'm swapping back and forth. The menu differences stand out of course, as does speed of loading. Maybe I'd have a harder time if my TV and monitor weren't 60hz, but at this point switching between 60...

Destiny and D2 have been more an evolution than anything else. Bungie's deal with Activision forced them into deadlines they had trouble hitting, internal strife (and possibly Activision meddling)...
