The Midseason finale aired last Sunday. Finally got around to it. I know a lot of you dislike Alicia, but I thought this was one of the better episodes that had her as the main lead. It was a very eerie Dr. Frankenstein type episode with that guy Ed experimenting on Walkers.
Interesting cliffhanger with Grace being brought back. Morgan had a huge thing for her when she thought she was dying of cancer. But, she's pregnant. And I guess Virginia wants Strand to hunt down Morgan and company.
Strand kind of annoys me. He plays both sides and I guess he's kissing Virginia's ass for something to benefit him.
The preview for the return in 2021 looks quite dark. I'm guessing this returns after The Walking Dead airs it's 6 episode bonus season.

I was reading a few comments about the Sunday's "Walking Dead" on another site, and two people posted the major spoiler from the upcoming "Fear"...

Wow. Did not expect that at all last night. Really liked John Dorie. He was one of my favorite characters. He was weird, but yet he was a good man. Guess Dakota is as much a sociopath as her sister. And that was a tough scene seeing June have to do what she did. I felt like she and John had an unorthodox, yet poignant love story. Sad ending for those two.

As much as it sucks, that was really well done. The moment he lifted his head and you saw the eyes was so crushing.

Big bummer. He was a good character.

According to Dillahunt, it was his decision to leave the show. Sucks since he has been one of the better characters on either show.

Dorie was one of my favorite characters in the whole TWD world, largely because of Dillahunt. I'm kind of surprised Lenny has stuck around so long.

Reminded me of the old Walking Dead, back when it was good, where major characters could get killed off for no good reason in the middle of a season.

I feared he would die, since someone wrote, he was looking up what Garret Dillahunt was up to in the Army of the Dead threat, the start of the episode was a second sign, but I forgot about it during the episode until he saw the knife. I hate to see him leave, he was such a good character, like I'm used to if Dillahunt is in a show. He was the best character in The Sarah Connor Chronicles, House of God and Raising Hope. He was great in Justified, Deadwood and the short lived John From Cincinnati and even as a recurring villain in Life and Burn Notice. Man do I watch a lot of shows.

Did not see the death of Dorie coming. Kind of a gut punch right there. That would have been a real rough wait for the next episode if it had been the mid-season finale.
Instead, I got to watch them back to back. I won't spoil anything other than to say they cover a LOT of ground in the episode, more than I thought they would. And the rest of the season is left wide open.

I wish I was with you all on the last couple episodes, but I really disliked them. This season started strong with the more narrowly focused episodes, but those started faltering and then the last two have felt like a bad soap opera to me. I used to love Morgan, but his flip-flopping angst just feels stupid and unintentionally funny at this point.
Virginia is awful, both on the page and in execution. Thinking back over the history of this show and the original, I can buy the in-universe logic of why pretty much all of the leaders, both good and bad, had people that followed them. I don’t get it with Virginia. Her followers treat her as if she’s Negan, but she comes off much more as a Gregory.
The twists and turns with Dakota are pure soapy trash. Strand is ridiculous. With Dorie gone, I can’t think of a character that I currently enjoy on the show. I was close to giving up on it after last season, but then felt some hope with the narrative approach they used at the start of this one. I’ll probably give it a couple more episodes, but am getting pretty close to quitting it.

Yeah, Virginia is the weak link in FTWD.
She isn't that threatening, just kind of obnoxious like Parker Posey's character in Dazed and Confused.
In any real-world scenario, she'd be killed by her own followers in about a two days.

Well, June sure cleaned things up.
Bye bye Virginia.
