Re: Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021, D: J. Reitman) -- S: Coon, Rudd -- The Spoiler Reviews Thread

Egon at the end blew me away. Amazing. Absolutely a touching last 15 minutes or so. The rest of the movie was very average. I thought they tried way to hard to recreate everything from the first...

Re: Halloween Kills (2021, D: Green, EP: Carpenter) -- S: Curtis, Greer -- The Spoiler Reviews Thread

I voted 2 stars. This movie sucked. The only thing I really enjoyed was seeing the Halloween 3 masks return.

Re: SNL 12/21/19 (S45E10) -- H: Eddie Murphy -- MG: Lizzo

First time I've watched SNL in years. Never thought we'd see Eddie back. This is awesome.

Re: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (Abrams, 2019) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

One of my favorite lines from the new movie was when Ben says to Han something to the effect, "Dad.........." and you can tell he wants to say "I love you" or something but can't get it out. Han...

Re: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (Abrams, 2019) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Just got back. As a TLJ hater, I actually really liked this one. The pacing was exhausting, but there were several surprises to me since I avoided most spoilers. It may have helped that my...

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (12/20/19, W/D: J.J. Abrams)

GOD, I have a feeling that the Stormtrooper that says "It's OK that you're here" is Ed Sheeran. :yack:

Re: Would you miss theaters if everything became streaming?

I would miss the theater for sure. Hope it never happens. One thing I would not miss is people plowing through their noisy BAG of popcorn crunching on it like madmen.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (12/20/19, W/D: J.J. Abrams)

Dammit. My heart has grown so cold to Star Wars, the new trailer does nothing for me. It makes me sad having been such a huge fan since 77. Several years ago I would have had goose bumps and maybe...

re: Dolemite Is My Name (2019, D: Brewer) -- S: Eddie Murphy -- Netflix

The voice does remind me of his character in Bowfinger.

But this looks awesome! I am always hoping for a true Eddie Murphy comedy comeback.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (The Russo Brothers, 2019) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Great last battle. Otherwise I was kinda disappointed. It was a lot slower than I expected. The humor didn't always seem to fit. Was going to go to the drive-in theater to see it again tomorrow,...

Re: Avengers: Endgame (The Russo Brothers, 2019) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

Saw it. It sucked. 1 of 5 stars.

Just wanted to get that in on the first page of this thread that is destined to be huge.

Looking forward to Thursday

Re: The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (2018, D: The Coen Brothers) -- Netflix

Just finished watching this. Amazing. Loved every story except The Mortal Remains. I had to google an explanation to figure out what I just watched.

Re: Family Video closings (NOT Family Video closing!)

Taco Johns! lol. yep!

I know the day is coming that Family Video is going to close. Even though I don't frequent video stores like I did when I was a kid, I will be extremely sad. My favorite...

Re: Family Video closings (NOT Family Video closing!)

The one in Creve Coeur (on the other side of the river from Peoria) is the one closest to my home. It is still open. We plan on going there later on tonight in fact.

Re: Family Video closings (NOT Family Video closing!)

We stopped at Family Video last Friday and rented Mario Party for the Switch. This is in Peoria, IL. So as of then ours was still open. I'll drive by today and double check.

Re: The Walking Dead (S9E04) -- "The Obliged" -- 10/28/18

I feel Rick's pain. I almost took some rebar up the ass one time. Long story.
