FYI, this just premiered on Netflix this past week. So it took 4 months from PVOD to hit Netflix.
His other sci-fi movie Breach is on Prime Video.
I might check this out later tonight since it's barely 90 minutes.

Re: Midnight in the Switchgrass (2021) -- S: Bruce Willis, Megan Fox
This is available as a cheap DVD rental at Red Box. This movie never went to theaters when it came out 10 days ago. There's no box office numbers. it went straight to VOD.
Not surprising that it sucks. It's super low budget, Willis is in it probably no more than 15 minutes and he gets top billing. IMDB says he filmed all his scenes in 1 day. There are some night and day scenes with him, so I assume it was early morning to night and they used that to make it look like he was in it longer. Emile Hirsch is actually the lead of this movie. Fox is really the supporting character. And God her boyfriend Machine Gun Kelly is fucking awful. The killer is pretty telegraphed who it is. There's one scene where Fox is undercover and wearing a really sexy top and super short mini skirt. But, other than that, nothing really to say about her here. Stallone's kid Sistine has a small part in this movie as well.
This movie kind of reminded me of the ABC show Big Sky. Similar premise. These Lionsgate straight to video movies are pretty much 98% trash.

He’s so lazy now he is allowing for his likeness to be used as a deep fake in foreign commercials.

Survive the Game (2021) -- S: Chad Michael Murray and Bruce Willis
Bruce Willis (Pulp Fiction) and Chad Michael Murray (“Riverdale”) star in this wild, rollicking crime thriller. When cop David (Willis) is injured in a drug bust gone wrong, his partner Cal chases the two criminals who shot him. They all land at a remote farm owned by troubled vet Eric (Murray), and as Cal and Eric plot their defense, more of the gang arrives—along with a wounded David. Outnumbered, the three heroes must use stealth, smarts, and good shooting to take down the drug-dealing mob.
Yes, another Bruce Willis movie in 2021.

Initially thought this was a sequel to Survive the Night which also had Willis as a cop (albeit retired) and Chad Michael Murray (playing his son).

They have another movie together coming out called The Fortress, which seems to already have a sequel shot back to back. A trilogy is planned.

Yeah, Willis has quite a few of these movies coming up. I notice a lot of them share the same cast so probably goes into production not too long after the other (not hard for WIllis since most of his scenes are probably shot in 2-3 days with any pick-ups using a poor stand-in).
I wouldn't have an issue with these direct-to-video movies if they were at least semi entertaining or even good-bad, they're just mediocre. Must be a good write-off for the production companies. I do wonder what kind of paycheck Willis gets out of them.

There are a few articles online that talk about Willis’ fall from grace. There seem to be a few things that can be attributed to his straight-to-video life nowadays.
1. He had a one-two punch of being dropped from The Expendables and a Woody Allen movie for demanding too much.
2. Rumors have persisted that he’s difficult to work with.
3. His ego won’t allow him to fade quietly into that good night.
4. He manages to keep his face on movie ads and name in the industry.
5. He fell in with straight-to-video producers who ensure he makes approx. 1 million per movie for less than a week’s work.
All-in-all, as much as we make fun of him for these shit movies, Willis is still making money hand over fist with minimal effort. If he churns out 5 or 6 movies a year, works a little over a month total and pulls in $6 million. Not to bad.
The only question is, he’s still got it pretty good so why does he seem like a miserable prick all the time?

I thought dex was going to merge all those threads to make this a one and only Willis discussion? Unless he's not worth the effort.
And all those threads were pretty much all his DTV work mentioned here.

Bc he fell from grace. Wouldn’t you be pissed and take shit jobs to try and get back? But sounds like he’s burning bridges. Too bad as he once was good. Even in Moonlighting days. Now, he’s a miserable prick and I won’t see any of his movies unless they are good ones done with first rate companies and people. Wasn’t he in Moonrise Kingdom and another Wes film? How long ago was that? I can’t even remember the last time I liked him in a film. Especially one that was just his. When was Red? That was good. Hated second GI Joe.
It’s sad when the best thing he’s done in the last 7 or 8 years was a car battery commercial.

It's interesting to look at these actors who have landed in DTV land. Just check out Tom Sizemore's IMDb, he has 16 movies either in post or completed. Has another 11 that are in pre-production (course a few those could be cancelled if financing falls through).

So I’m looking at Willis’ resume. It looks like the last A list production he did was Motherless Brooklyn from two years ago. Did anyone see that? Was his role substantial or small?
