Wow, I was expecting a serious trainwreck, and like dex mentioned, outside of the cgi muzzle flashes, I think it looks pretty good. I'll watch it.

Not sure if Willis will sleepwalk through this one – hard to tell from the trailer – but it does look pretty slick. Grillo seems to split opinions, but I think he elevates a lot of the B-movies he’s in.

Re: Breach (2020) -- S: Bruce Willis, Thomas Jane, Rachel Nichols
So, with nothing else to do on a Sunday afternoon Breach became my streaming choice for the afternoon.
The first thing to note is that this is a Bruce Willis movie unlike most of his recent efforts. He appears early in the film and then in most subsequent scenes up to the end. This is not a situation where his scenes were filmed in one day on one set and he went home. Secondly he does appear a little more engaged than in some of the films of recent years. He plays an alcoholic, drunken burn-out working maintenance and cleaning on the last ship to leave Earth following an unspecified global apocalypse. His character shambles along with a mostly somnambulistic look on his face. He is a person who simply does not give a **** anymore and drinks himself stupid the whole time. Despite the nature of the character he does get away from the bland disinterest normally shown and is engaged with the plot and with the character. A great game is to see how often his character takes a drink - I estimated about eighty times in ninety minutes.
That said, this is a cheap film. It was probably shot in ten days and features about four or five sets representing the interior of the space ark (drab grey corridors, a grey medical bay, a deck and some very grotty toilet facilities) and maybe one day of location filming to represent a space port (wire fencing and about twenty extras.)
The plot is mostly about the incursion of an alien into the ship and crew. The alien eats away internal organs and then controls the host like a parasite and occasionally bursting forth from the body (a bit like another film about an alien from 1979, I think it may have in fact been called Alien.) The parasite infested crew then seek to kill the survivors in brutal fashion, biting necks out, plunging fists straight through chest cavities, that kind of thing.
Effects are near universally poor with everything from gun muzzle flashes to flame throwers represented entirely through CGI. The CGI model of the ship looks oddly-scaled and too tiny for the vast cohort of frozen humans it is meant to be carrying. The final giant alien is barely discernible amidst the haze of polygons from which it was created and Willis is not wrong in describing it as "one ugly mother-******" which is another rip from a better film.
Thomas Jane appears in a brief scene at the start and a couple of sequences near the end and, unlike Willis, he seems to have done a single day's work on the film.
I didn't hate this but the film is mercilessly cheap with no real attempt at creating a convincing future with everything from bathroom facilities (important to the plot), intercoms, computers and other tech all looking very twentieth century. Positive elements are the crew of drunken losers who hate their jobs, the relentlessness of the aliens and the ending, all of which make it a tolerable viewing experience. Director John Suits did the previous 3022 a similar space-ship set story and this seems to be his area of interest.

It was... okay if you like generic killer alien on spaceship scifi I suppose. Not something I'd ever return to see again.

When Rebecca herself is abducted by their target and her life hangs in the balance, Karl and Byron have precious few hours to piece together the last clues and put an end to the infamous ‘Truck Stop Killer’.
This was one of the first few movies that got shut down last March due to the pandemic. It's also supposedly based on a true story.

Out of Death (2021) -- S: Bruce Willis, Jaime King
Retired cop Jack Harris’s (Bruce Willis) solace in the remote wilderness is hijacked when he encounters a lone hiker, Shannon (Jaime King), who’s on the run from dirty police. Determined to help her at any cost, Jack must tap into his killer instincts to survive the wilderness and the human predators within it. Directed by: Mike Burns Starring: Bruce Willis, Jaime King, Lala Kent Release Date: 7/16/21
The latest Bruce Willis masterpiece. According to IMDB, this was shot in 9 days due to COVID and Willis filmed all his scenes in 1 day.

I'm sure the vast majority here won't watch this, but I just get a kick of how many movies Bruce Willis is cranking out.
Just to give you an idea how fast he's cranking these out. According to his IMDB, he has 7 movies in post production meaning already in the can. And he has 3 more movies currently filming.

There was a time, when I was in junior high school, about the time Bruce was making Die Hard 2 & 3, Pulp Fiction, and 12 Monkeys, that Bruce Willis was my favorite actor.
That was a long time ago…

That's one of those titles where you wonder if they can work it into the dialogue: "I don't know what you're looking for, Lady, but we're all out of death."

I think he just doesn't give a fuck anymore. Crapping out 3 of those movies probably pays enough to keep up his living standard and he only has to show up on set for a couple of days. Making a real movie doesn't pay as good as in the past, but there is the same amount of effort like in his glory days. Even in Die Hard 5 it shows he just has no intrest in putting up the work. It's a damned shame. Most Nicolas Cage's movies are trash nower days, but at least he always gives a Nicolas Cage performance.

Half the credit block at the end of that trailer is "Executive Producers". Par for the course for these Emmett/Furla productions, I suppose, but it really feels like if you can pony up a few grand toward the production of something these days, you'll get an onscreen credit right up front.

Sometimes when I look up b and c movie actors from old movies I’ll say to myself “hey good for them, they’re still working.”
When I see a trailer for a new Bruce Willis movie I’m like “ugh he’s still working.”
