I've had the Target steelbook pre-ordered for a while now, no reason to change that.

Turbine is releasing this 4K disc of Pitch Black May 13, 2022.

https://turbine-shop.de/31044/pitch-...ueck-uhd-2x-bd
The big selling point is that it has a Dolby Atmos soundtrack. The Arrow Video release only has the DTS-HD MA 5.1 soundtrack. I pre-ordered it and it was about $60 shipped to the USA.
This one is Cover B and is limited to 1,111 units and Cover A is limited to 2,222 units. Cover B is much better than A, IMO.

Re: UHD release announcements
I would say order directly from Anime Limited. I would wait for Part 2 pre-order to open and order both together. You can also order from Anime On Line (MVM),

Re: UHD release announcements
I'd go for an uncut version too. I have the last Paramount blu (in fact, I have both blus and the DVD. I don't have the Shout Factory Blu). I assume it's the theatrical cut. Would Paramount release an uncut version? Do they have one they could release?

Re: UHD release announcements
We did an exhaustive search for film elements for the director’s cut, but as you’ll hear in his new 2021 interview, director Paul W.S. Anderson doesn’t think his cut will materialize. Unfortunately, much of the footage is lost and as he mentions, he’d need to shoot new footage. We moved the release date a few times because of some leads, but to our disappointment, they didn’t pan out. We definitely tried our best.

Re: UHD release announcements
Yeah, I was pretty sure that there was no hope for an uncut version. I have the Blu-ray, and some of those CGI effects didn't age well. I think I will be fine with that resolution, unless this new version has tons of extras that are new.

Well, poo. I guess I'll wait and see how the disc looks. It's one of my favorite movies. Thanks Adam for the info. Maybe I should be fine with the blu I have or get the Shout one while it's still in available.

Vinegar Syndrome just announced that they're putting out The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 on UHD BD! No release date yet, but coming later this year:
If you’re saving up to become a Halfway Subscriber, we’re ready to welcome you to the club with our biggest and best second half of the year ever. We hope you’re looking forward to plenty of slashers, gialli, and regional weirdness, as well as UHD premiers of horror masterpieces such as THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE PART 2!

Like a sucker I picked up the Scream Factory BD. I just never thought Paramount would issue it on UHD.
