Re: UHD release announcements
"all that jazz" refers to 12 Angry Men and not a release of the movie All That Jazz, I assume.

That might only indicate how poorly the original Final Fantasy Blu-ray was authored. Avatar was done much later and I’m sure with more care. Although the extended version of Avatar does look a bit softer than the theatrical version.
It sure would be nice if Avatar was rerendered in 4K. One can dream

Thats definitely the pattern. However I am shocked at how much better another HD animated film ‘Final Fantasy Spirits Within’ looks in its 4K version.

Maybe as part of an IMAX re-release before Avatar 2 comes out, but considering how many people were blown away by the original IMAX screenings, that may not really be necessary.

Ya'll have sour grapes syndrome.
I haven't even seen either Venom film but I'm glad to see any film get this kind of physical media attention because it means the studios know that we're still out here collecting discs.
We need to apply the "Criterion Collection having films like Armageddon and The Rock in them to raise money to buy obscure French films about doing the laundry" argument to this kind of thing.

Re: UHD release announcements

I just posted my review of Escape from L.A., and I'm definitely not one of those folks who'd complain about it getting a UHD release. This specific UHD release, sure, since the audio is a mess and a replacement program is already underway. But I'm a fan of the movie, and it sure does look fantastic in UHD/Dolby Vision.

Link for pre-orders for anyone interested:
https://turbine.de/the-texas-chainsa...tter-englisch/
I'm definitely thinking about pre-ordering as I held off on Turbine Media's previous 4K release of this film, as it didn't have HDR or Dolby Vision.

Nice to see a rerelease on that one. Not sure if I’ll pay the premium to order from overseas, but still much cheaper than what the OOP non HDR version was going for.

Gonna wait for a cheaper US 4K release. It's gotta be coming...especially with the recent success of the new Netflix film.
