Prey is going to be released on 4k and Bluray on 10/3. This is pretty cool news since it had only been exclusive to Hulu. https://thedigitalbits.com/

Re: UHD release announcements

Great news. Should have a strong showing and make the studios reconsider continuing with physical releases.

Re: UHD release announcements

Severin announced at their Super Shock Pop-Up tonight that they’re bringing Cemetery Man to UHD BD. The restoration is still in the works, so it’ll be a ways off, but…yeah!

I’d like to give this movie another chance. I didn’t care for it the first time I saw it (about a year after it came out) but for some reason I have a feeling I’d like it now.

I saw it sometime soon after its video release, during my, let's say "less focused" movie watching days, so don't remember whether I thought it lived up to the hype. Not sure buying a 4K disk just to test that is worth it, but I am curious.

I sure didn’t have an Ilsa box set from Kino Lorber on my Bingo card.

Hate to be vulgar but probably the most perfect pair of tits ever committed to film.

I wasn't as impressed with it way back in the Anchor Bay days as everyone else seemed to be. I'm definitely up for giving it another look now that I'm older, wiser (?), and have developed better tastes, but it'll be the standard retail release or whatever, not the $65 version that Severin will surely be selling on their site. Waiting on The Psychic too; interested, but not $65-plus-shipping-interested. I'm okay with paying that much if it's a movie that really means something to me (like Second Sight's massive Dawn of the Dead collection), but otherwise, no.

I've held onto my 2004 Anchor Bay set in hopes an upgrade of some sort would come along. The set still fetches about $120!

Great to see that Ilsa, the Tigress of Siberia (1977) is included in the set, as that was only available separately on DVD outside of the States.

Definitely didn't expect this either from Kino Lorber

I don't think I ever upgraded from my old Medusa PAL/R2 DVD.

This is fantastic news!

I made a bad assumption, apparently. Since Kino announced these all at once, I assumed it was a set, but they’re supposedly being released individually.

Hopefully they'll be an occasional sale on the individual releases similar to the Leone 4Ks.

I'm in much the same boat. I remember all the hype about the movie (Video Watchdog magazine, which I read religiously cover-to-cover, couldn't stop raving about it). But when I finally caught it on DVD, my reaction was, "I don't get it, is this really the right movie they've been talking about?" I'm wondering if I'd feel differently now.

Yeah, I’ll try to find it streaming or on the oldest available format from my library and then go from there.

Re: UHD release announcements

Severin is screening a 4K restoration of Dario Argento's Opera in October, and while that isn't explictly an Ultra HD Blu-ray announcement, if they're gonna put out an Argento obscurity like The Five Days, Opera in UHD is as safe a bet as they come.

Without going through the details Opera was the reason I found this site. It's all that DVD's fault.

Re: UHD release announcements

I was just coming here to post about Muppets Take Manhattan. It's always been one of my favorite Muppet movies and I only have it on dvd so I'll likely upgrade.
