Is there anything new with The 400 Blows aside from being a dual-format release?

How many people will complain about the video quality for Breaking The Waves?

Cool month. I've been waiting to own a copy of Breaking the Waves, and more Dreyer and Siegel films are always welcome.

Too lazy to double check but it doesn't seem like it. I don't like this new trend of announcing re-releases as part of their monthly announcements.

I don't mind it because I'm only a casual collector and I like knowing about updates to catalog titles that I might not have noticed before. I can't be the only person like this and Criterion likely knows it and wants to make sure they reach as many people as possible.

A month with Dreyer is a good month for me.

Yeah that's kind of lame. Now if they had announced the entire Doinel box set on Blu, then we'd be talking.

I had read on another forum that this release would have Antoine and Colette on it, but looking at the Criterion website, it still looks to only be in the Antoine Doinel box.

If they upgraded that box set to Blu, I'd be all over it.

It's not exactly a new trend; they've been doing it ever since they started doing upgrading previous spine-numbers on Blu-Ray; if you already have the title, then you can skip it and move onto the other titles.

Damn. This looks like a bad ass release. I hope it goes down in price though ($30 at amazon). Then I can own my second ever criterion.

Jesus, 3 hours and 15 minutes is a fucking eternity for a comedy. Who directed this thing, Judd Apatow?!

Announcing blu-ray upgrades is one thing, announcing what are essentially repackagings is another. That said, I don't think anyone would have a problem with it if there were any actual upgrades this month, but there isn't so it sticks out.

I really dig the Mad World packaging.
