I always enjoy getting critiqued on these threads. I just updated my sig with my most current collection, though there are a couple dozen that haven't made it in yet. Have at me!

I'll give you an "A-", but dude, you need help! There's no way that you are buying DVDs to watch them. You, my friend, are a collector and a librarian! I guarantee that you will never watch American Psycho 2 ever again (but you can't watch it now that I put that idea in your head!)

You aren't Blockbuster, you are in Virgin Megastore territory! (I do like your large Bollywood DVD collection)

I know I have a problem. I am at least frugal about it. Sad thing is I just took about 100 out to sell like 3 weeks ago, so it could be worse. It is about time for another cull.

Re: Bollywood DVDs

A large number of the Bollywood additions came from my local Half Price Books, which appeared to have received a Bollywood Video Rental place's stock after they closed down. So I managed to pull TONS of discs for about $2 each, some classics, some decent, some neither. The rest have been a result of mine and my wife's obsessive natures.

I just noticed this thread. I took a glance at yours, our tastes could not be more far apart, they are exact polar opposites, I am assuming you are a girl, so for what you like I guess you have a good collection, there is just so little variety though. You definitely need some more Blu-Rays, Fogetting Sarah Marshall is a good one you may like. There are a lot of great 80s comedies you would probably like that you can get for cheap. I can't recommend enough 3 O'Clock High & Real Genius. And you need to go out now & add some Arrested Devolpment to your collection.

I take slight offense to you assuming I'm a girl. Just joking but I guess my selection is rather childish or chick flickish for a guy. However, I guess you didn't take a look at my over 230 wrestling/sports dvds list. Maybe that takes away from the girl appeal of my collection or at least I hope it does. I'm just more of an 80s and comedy fan. And yes I have Sara Marshall on dvd and it's one of my favorites. I'm relatively new at collecting but plan to widen the variety over the next few months. Have any suggestions from other genres that would be worth checking into?

Alot of stuff in your collection are usual female/chick flick stuff....
Plus there's alot of stuff in your collection that is for teens/children....
Besides that it's a mixed bag, I see some really good stuff in there....
And then some stuff I wouldn't take if someone offered me it for free....
I will give you props for having a decent sized collection with alot of variety....
Overall I would a rate your collection with a: C

just fyi, but the way it works is: you rate the guy who posted last, then someone rates you. so you technically should have rated 'PixarFan' before anyone rates you. 'PixarFan' should have done 'drew' (better yet 'ammo' but he doesn't have a collection in sig) before i rated him actually.

I give you a B, only thing holding you back from an A is the fact that I see a few too many Full Screen discs throughout.

Re: Rate My DVD Collection

I lose points because full screen doesn't bother me?
That makes no sense, I thought it was about the films not the aspect ratio....

The two are intrinsically related.

Re: Rate My DVD Collection

Not really, some films were only released that way.
I don't see anything wrong with it....
Oh well....
