Mini FAQ
Coupons should not work for PREORDERS , Criterions, Nook, Legos, Rosetta Stone, Digital, Gift Cards, Memberships, etc.
Free Shipping is $25 (before tax/shipping) or with membership.
Online only a single code can be applied to an order

Return period is 14 days after delivery though possibly it's 30 days now for most people though there is a discrepancy b/w the receipt and website.
Online ordered items can returned to a local store unless it's classified as a web-only item then it's at the store's discretion to accept

Single Item 15% OFF, but should be reusable in different transaction and if the Clerks will scan it more than once.

Expiration 12/31/2020 and despite the coupon language is only good for In-store coupon Eligible items.

The long standing Free 60 day Trial Offer was discontinued in late May 2016

That location during the last sale was the most difficult. The very same clerks who would accept my $5 off coupon on CC $29.99 retail ($15.00 sale) at an earlier CC sale, declined it at the following sale. I assumed they were issued warnings from a supervisor. So I'd just go elsewhere.

I have a B&N store related question... how do you tell (online) if they even have any CDs/DVDs/BRs? When we visited the West coast, there were 3 BNs we stopped-by and none had anything more that a CD-rack at the front. No movies at all.

You can use the "pick me up" option online. Pick a popular DVD or blu title and search by the zip code to get a list of stores in your area. If they stock the title they probably have a sizable DVD section.

I stopped shopping at that store, period. The guy managing the media section a couple Criterion sales ago - not sure if he's still around - was a douche. He recognized me from a previous visit and basically acted like I was trying to defraud the store by using the same coupon more than once (funny enough, even though it's true that I've used the same coupon many times, I had actually only been to that particular location twice and used two different coupons). I walked out and haven't been back since. I find that 54th St, 17th St, and 86th St are very coupon-friendly in general.

Yes the clerk at the store told me they were refusing the coupon all day. My favorite NYC store closed last year. It was the biggest with the largest selection. It was in Lincoln Center with a whole floor of just CDs and DVDs. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I was very sorry to see it close.

Haha, I should have paid attention to that 7/25 expiration date on the 20% off coupon!

They weren't able to fulfill the Wizard of Oz set, so I ended up with Gettysburg/Gods and Generals and Gone With the Wind for about $53.

I think his name is Kenny, he's an older skinny guy & used to work at the FYE before it closed @ either Rockefellar Center or Lexington Ave.

Very polite but anti-coupon.

Doesn't look like it. I took a look this evening and only saw some crappy book coupons. Have to make do with what is already available until next week.

LASERMOVIES thank you so much for your updated information in this thread! I was wondering what the likelihood of another big coupon to be hitting the stores this weekend before the sale ends monday night.

I posted several times it doesn't appear if B&N is going to issue any new coupons that can be used for DVD or blu-ray this week. You'll have to get by with what is already available. Probably no new coupons until after the sale is over.

Does anybody know if new coupons are coming before the end of the sale on Monday?

Just kidding. Another good sale. Thanks to LASERMOVIES for the additional discounts.

See you guys in November.

All-in-all, not a bad sale. My lightest haul yet, but that's due to catching up on earlier sales. The $5 off coupon will be missed, but allowing other coupons online, helped to take away the sting.

Overall I didn't really miss the $5 coupons the way it turned out. Online coupons this time around sure helped save a lot of driving. I only made three stops at stores during this sale and was able to plan those trips around errands I had to do for other things, so technically I feel like I didn't have to waste gas going out of my way. I did the bulk of my purchases online this time. I thought I was going to only make 6 to 9 purchases at most but ended up going beyond that with 19 Criterions, including some OOP titles that B&N somehow got in stock.

The same guy who first told me the dates of the Criterion sale back in June told me at the beginning of this sale that B&N had a bunch of the OOP titles in the warehouse. He was telling me which titles he ordered so I made a list and ordered a few for myself.

Did he know how they came across all these OOP titles? I tried to order Le Trou about a year ago but never got it even though it was available to order on their web site. I wasn't surprised when it was canceled since it said it would take several weeks to fulfill then and was OOP. This time I managed to get it even though it said it wasn't in stock at the time I placed the order online. I had to wait a week for it to ship but I did finally get it this time around.

He didn't say and I'm surprised I didn't ask. I'll probably be there this weekend so I'll ask. I just assumed Criterion had tons of copies and sent them to B&N for this sale.

There's never a guarantee but, historically, they have been July and November.

I was wondering if B&N might have a problem misplacing some of their stock at their warehouses. I sort of went through this the last sale in November with a OOP title. Actually I ordered it during the July sale but it never shipped, or was canceled, but was listed available in about 2 weeks. I noticed about a few weeks before the November sale the title was suddenly listed as available to ship in 24 hours. Since my order was still open I called customer service to ask about it. At first they thought it was a mistake but after a few calls to the warehouse they confirmed they had it. However they said my order was canceled even though it was still showing opened in my account. However they did place a new order for the price of the original order in July, and I got it right at the start of the November sale. It soon went out of stock again and that was it since it was OOP.
