You're welcome! I only have one account that still gets any email offers and coupons from B&N. I'm currently without a membership and didn't see anything I wanted from any of the current sales. I didn't want the coupon to go to waste since I figured someone could use it.

$21.59 before any discount. It's only about a buck fifty cheaper than other stores, but it's a nice deal with a 20 or 25 percent off coupon. After a 25% off coupon it would be about $16.20+ tax and possible shipping for the combo pack.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Anyone receive the 25% off via email? I did a get a 20% off code to one of the non-member accounts but ,as usual, nothing to the address linked to my member account. I've been admiring that Upstairs Downstairs Complete Series set that is currently 50% online. An additional 20% off drops it to $80 which is by far the best price available. I just wish it was this price in store so I could use the 25% coupon and my member discount.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I checked this morning and was told the in store price was $140 and since it was a "sale price", it doesn't get the extra 10% box set discount. I'd settle for a 20% on-line discount.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Thinking outside the box here...

If you're store only has one copy of something, and the price is significantly cheaper online, you could always buy the only copy, go back later and do a ship-to-home order, then return the copy to the store afterward.

This might not be worth your time if you live far away from a Barnes & Noble or don't have the money to use upfront for the in-store copy. It seems a little shady, but it's a way around Barnes & Noble's refusal to price match their own website, which I've always found ridiculous.

I did the same and was told basically the same. It's 30% off list ($140) in store. I may grab it with the 20% off online code.

Does any one have the code for the 20% on-line discount?

They are single use codes so there's no point in posting one once it's been used. Your best bet is to can ask if anyone has one they won't be using.

I think that its crazy they won't price match. I found a better deal on something I bought online and tried to get them to match it and they wouldn't so I just returned the item. The manager of the media department had the balls to sit there and say that I am taking food out of his families mouth by ordering online versus the store.

You should have handed him some spare change and walked away.

Cry me a river.

It's the chain's fault they make their stores compete with .com. Other stores match online prices, B&N should too.

Another option is to call the store and do a ship to home order via the phone. This is a YMMV situation. Recently with the 50% off coupon, I was able to do this for the Ten Commandments gift set, and bought it for under $30.

One of my other purchases was the Harry Potter/Deathly Hallows combo pack for a little over $13.00. My wife and I are both fans of the series, and new I would buy it...and had an extra coupon to use one day.

Or you could use BN.com's handy pick-me-up-in-store feature under a bogus email address and name. The item(s) get reserved and held for the bogus name, you walk in wanting said items and, "Oh, man, looks like I'll have to settle with ship-to-home. Gosh, darn, if I hafta, I hafta."

I thought I was the only one who thought like this

Never done it, but would definitely consider it for something I really wanted. Are returns to B&N easy? I bought the Tron 5D and may return it b/c I got a better deal at Target.

This presumes a small quantity on hand. What if they have 5?

Anyone know how to check the status of ship to home orders? Usually they ship on the day of release, but I didn't get notices today for Kes and Fear & Loathing. Thanks.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

B&N has the new Ernie Kovacs Collection on sale for for 41.99, 40% off. I used a coupon (thanks Laser) to save even more. I know you get a bonus DVD if you order the set directly from Shout Factory but they are charging $55 plus 6.50 for shipping and I couldn't justify the nearly $30 difference for one DVD. I hope I don't regret that later.

Did you have the balls to respond: "Well, there's an overpopulation problem."
