I haven't found a calendar, but did see this, which hopefully is everything for today at least:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/goldbox?gb...BHVK2005PHHBV& I must shake my head in wonderment over the "deals" offered. While there are some good titles at mostly good prices, they are older titles that people either already own or are just not interested in, something the percentage sold seems to support. |

That's for the DVD set, though, right? Or did I miss it as a Blu-ray deal, too?

Blu-ray for about an hour. I don't post DVD deals here - just BD's. |
Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
Amazon just matched WM's $9.96 price on The Jungle Book BD/DVD/Digital disc. Hurry... it won't last long...
|
Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
Hmm, I could've been really happy not knowing about that, fellas...

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
Now You See Me 2 is $8.99. Ironically it was a lightning deal earlier today and it was 100% claimed at the higher price of $12.99.

Unfortunately I dragged my feet on Supergirl. I've been intending to watch it on Netflix, but having a cheap physical copy would've protected me against availability windows.

I know you're not really a big streamer/Netflix user, but streaming season 1 as opposed to getting a physical copy (not matter how cheap it is) will probably get you caught up much faster. |
Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
I can't believe that I haven't bought anything from Amazon today.
All I bought this week from them was the Sopranos and Wire, which were deal of the days a few days ago and really good priced. But, seems like I have most of the things I want already and don't really want to splurge on middle of the road items. |

Fight Club $3.99

Live jungle book for $10 now

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
I got Batman vs Superman and Captain America: Civil War, both of which I've been waiting for a price drop. Some other titles were tempting, but I'm trying to limit my BD purchases.

I would agree that Amazon has largely been disappointing this Black Friday but early reports are indicating they did far more business this year than last year.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
Glad that Jungle Book hit the $10 mark (finally) at Amazon. Ordered a couple of copies. (I really enjoyed that movie, and didn't expect to).
Ended up doing most of my blu shopping at Target: Star Trek Beyond $10, Finding Dory $10, And under $10: Batman/Superman, The Nice Guys, X-Men Apocalypse, The Shallows, Conjuring 2, Minions (it's for a gift), Hateful Eight. X-Men First Class came back into stock yesterday at BB online, so was happy to get that for $3.99. Thinking about getting Civil War, but it's so bare-bones compared to some of the other titles... |
Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
Well, to amazons credit, they price matched damn near every major B&M doorbuster movie deal. They just did it at random timeframes. You had to be monitoring like a madman (me) to get them before they were gone.
The only movie I bought from amazon where I didn't pay the doorbuster price was Allegiant, which Target had for $6. |

And I think last year they said they had their biggest Black Friday ever. Sad fact of the matter is with more and more people doing their holiday shopping online, none of these sites need to provide the huge deals they used to. The days where we'd have lightning deals of top titles for $4.99 seem to be long gone.
This was the first year where I went to the B&M stores to get deals, and for the last 4 or 5 years, I would just order from Amazon, even waking up at 3AM one year for some deal. Amazon is still my go-to site, but I agree, that the deals have diminished. |

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
Ugh. blu-ray.com's deals/price tracker would be great if Amazon would quit fucking with the prices of the same few items every couple hours. For example, Batman v Superman LE keeps bouncing around between $24 and $26 for no apparent reason. I hate seeing the same damn titles pop up multiple times a day when sorting deals by most recent.

Re: Amazon discounts and deals on Blu-ray
I received my copy of "Gotham Season 2" from Amazon yesterday—lightening fast turn-around. It was delivered by a rather disheveled looking lady in a beat up car! Is this Amazon's alternative to the USPS? My copy looked re-packaged, the discs had finger prints along the edges and the UV code it was invalid. When I attempted to exchange the set from their website, there was no option for the same item. They gave me other options based on my buying habits, an Amazon gift card or a refund. I have better luck with the marketplace sellers than Amazon itself. I don't get the popularity of that company. Good grief. I went ahead and canceled everything I ordered from them on Black Friday. It's just not worth the aggravation. Never again.
